Remote My dog ate my original remote control for my 40" flat screen tv (daenyx) I went to the store where I bought and they gave me 2 other remotes nothing like the original 2 different ones, now they don't work so I'm wondering if I have to program it and how do I do that

Return the universal remote those codes that provided in the owner manual don't work,it will impossible find a codes that will work.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote.

Well the reset on your dog probably won't work so it may eat another remote.

On the tv when you use a universal remote you enter a code for the remote. this lets it talk to the tv and should give you the same access to menus ie setup as the original. I don't see a tv model but when you get the universal it will have a list of all the codes. You just look up your manufacturer and then look for your model and enter the code. There may be a few codes per model so you just have to try each one until it works. Unfortunately for some off brand tv's the codes don't work but they are quite good for most. Your other alternative is of course getting a oem replacement.

And even with out a remote you can usually access the menus by pushing the buttons on the front of the tv. Its slow rather frustrating but should work if nothing else.

To tell you the truth I can fix any electronics equipment. But in your case because the dog break the digital printed board inside. you need to buy a new remote. My Daenyx DN-191 D TV remote stopped worked after a while. I didnt get one universal remote that works with this piece of junk. I called their customer service at 1-877-329-8351. They said the remote will be $30 + $7 (shipping) + tax. Your best bet will be to buy a replacement remote or better toss this junk off the window.
