No picture on sony dsc w40 lcd is fine but no picture someone said its the ccd pleasxe help

    Before I lost the picture I changed the lens and swapped over the ccd not sure if  I damaged it .does anyone know where and how much they are please

    Hi thanks for reply, The unit is about 2 years old thats why I tried to fix it my self.

Ahhh....that makes sense...how old is your unit? might be under warranty

sony usually only handles this sort of thing through authorized service centers, so you may need to use that approach

This is known problem of ccd imager chip failure in DSC-T1 camera and ccd imager chip will be replaced to get live view in LCD to take pictures.

It's a faulty CCD imager - a very common problem with the T33 - the imager has to be replaced. You can buy it from http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/toms.rammsteins and replace the CCD yourself (ask seller the instructions).

Picture suddenly pink

Pictures too bright


cover the lens with your hand - if the pix is still bright ? the ccd may be failing ( your dock / computer connection will help in seeing this low light level test ) and if so , parts availability will be your next test ;
