Check settings first to make sure no one changed anything out of the ordinary. Are the shadows that of a color or darkened shadow? It could be out of convergence, which can be corrected in the menu - or it could be low quality video cables to. Also, if there is no green, does a white color show up when you're in a menu mode (Red+Blue+Green = White Image)? If so, then the green picture tube is working and it's just a color adjustment, otherwise you may have to invest in a new green picture tube.

My Mitsubishi TV Model WT-46809 has the picture turn greenish pink after the TV has been on for a little while. What is the possible cause?

These sets did have one common issue where red, green, or blue would do what you are describing.

The set has 3 picture tubes and each has a small circuit board plugged to the bottom of it (bottom of the tubes faces down) and a ground would break loose or a part do the same.

I would examine the picture (see if you can take one and post it somewhere for me to see---picture will tell me a lot).

The ones with the ground broken usually show it more on the sides then in the middle of the screen.

Let me know all you can.

I have a mitsubishi hd 1080 and objects are double and outlined in blue

It sounds like a CONVERGENCE problem--I will post some photos here for you to examine.

Let me know exact model number--I have step by step instructions for this repair in most MITSUBISHI sets.

Shops get 300 or more for this repair but a do it yourself person can do it for under 30 dollars.

Model number can be found on the back of the set and for this brand usually begins with VS, WS, or WT followed by numbers.

If this information and the pictures help you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

No two sets with this problem will look exactly the same as it depends on how the problem happens.

The splitter may work or an audio/video switch box like this one

The first thing you need to do is to take away the color completely, then you adjust the hue until you get the picture looking like a black & white tv, like the old shows that were broadcast in black & white.
Then you can gradually add the color. And thats it your done!

WT 46809 Big Screen

Good Day y'all;
When the is picture being intermittent and bowing then the most common problem is that the convergence circuit has failed or is failing. If you don't get fixed, the will go DOA soon.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Certain HD settings won't work

no the set uses only two settings in the Y, Pb,Pr which it swithes back and forth. when a 480i,480p SD singal is detected it will switch to 480p, when an HD signal is detected it swiches to 1080i. when it swiches the picture scrambles for a second or two. to correct this in your cable box (if it's a motorola box) leave the tv on, press the power button on the box to shut down the box. next press the menu button on the box and the internal menu will show. use the cursor buttons on the box to select "480i overide" use the arrow to the right to select "streached" them hit menu to get out. hit the power button to turn the box back on.
