I have the same problem. Mine is making a clicking or beeping noise that is constant and will not stop. Also noticed that the LED temp lights on the front of it are off and it doesn't seem to be cooling....

Our freezer makes a rhythmic "ta ta ta ..tick tick tick" noise

  • Anonymous May 09, 2009

At first, the ice dispenser worked off and on and then clicking noises started off and on. When the noise was going, water would dispense in spurts. Now ice dispenser has stopped completely and clicking still comes and goes. If I turn the ice maker off, it stops. When I need ice, I turn it back on and the refrigerator gets cooler. Last night my juice bars were mushy. I thought the refrigerator was defrosting. Today it was warm and I knew it was basically dead. I turned the ice maker on, removed the ice holder that had partially defrosted ice and could see the fan trying to turn and barely heard the clicking and the fan turned a quarter of a turn with each click.

I at first thought it might be a relay because of the ice dispenser but did not do anythoing about it. Today I tried to remove the fan but after practically dismantling the freezer portion, I can't get just the fan out to take for testing. There was a lot of ice on the "fins" also. I don't know if that affected anything. I know I need to pull the unit out and clean the coils. I don't know if that is the problem either. If anyone can shed some light, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Beverly

Hotpoint quadrio fridgefreezer 2 years old ,not cooling and not freezing, motor was running but has now also stopped, someone surgested moduel was broke any surgestions

These types of refrigerators usually have cooling issues related to defective defrost heaters and failed evaporator fans. I don't believe the compressor has failed. The compressor has a run capacitor and a separate klixon, contact, and fuse attached to the compressor shell that has a tendency of failing. I would check that. It usually makes a clicking sound, but the compressor will not start.

Water dribbling out of dispencer whirlpool american fridgefreezer

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Noisy high pitched noise from fridgefreezer fan despite being replaced

The insulation in these units is taped in place. This will slip and rub the fan. That is what usually causes this noise. The inner back panel comes out fairly easily by removing the screws and then the panel. Simply re-tape the insulation with a strong bonding tape and give it a try. Hope this helps. Good luck.

The fridgefreezer has power but no cooling or freezing

Most likely there is low voltage to the unit or the compressor is bad. Is the condenser coil very dirty and if this unit has a condenser fan does it run?

HOTPOINT FRIDGEFREEZER

Sounds like frosting up. Defrost completely...that can take 2 days. Restart. Also, clean the condenser. Check door gaskets, clean and replace as necessary. Don't keep door open longer than necessary.
