Sata harddrive

hello there iv had an 80gb samsung ide harddrive on my computer for the last 3years just bought a 250gb sata drive and plug it all in correctly and tried install my windows xp home on it and when it tells me to install it says there are no harddrives installed on my computer im a bit puzzled can you help me.

You need to enter the BIOS and check to see if the sata drives are enable cause if there aren't then you'll always get that response and seems as tho you waste your money.

Also you must have the sata drive on primary.
