Blown fuse due to air flow blockage. Part number LA-1053. Part location: to the right of heater mounted on heater housing. POP the top:

NOTE: the fuse is heald into place on the side of the heater using the same screw that secures the heater element. Clever ain't it?

Dryer Won't Start

most common problem with the dryers is blown thermal fuses, something gets too hot and for safety reasons the thermal fuse blows. You can also check your incoming power supply make sure the breakers havent tripped. part num( LA-1053 )about $30 comes with directions to install. its located under main top towards the rear of unit moundted to the side of heater.BE SURE TO TURN OFF ALL POWER BEFORE CHECKING ITS LIVE!!!!!!!!!

Maytag dryer

The thermal fuse is blown its mounted on the heater with the two smaller white wires. Check the vent for restrictions (since overheating is what caused it to fail) Was the dryer taking long time to dry before it stopped?? If so there is a definate vent restriction. Part number LA-1053 comes with new high temp thermostat too (recommended).
