You can burn over the disc to another one or download the driver from the internet which i would recommend you do.

Go on and search for the printer the driver download option is right at the bottom of it underline in red.

Hi...I'll try to help. Firstly I would get rid of Norton. Norton is bloated and makes the computer go slow. For antivirus and firewall you should download AVAST. It's FREE it's great and I use it on my computer. Bye bye Norton install AVAST and do a full scan. You did great defragging and getting rid of some programs but remnants could be left behind in the registry. Download and install a program called "CCleaner" do a google search. It's free also. (as a funny note CCleaner used to be called "CrapCleaner" but people objected to it) Use CCleaner to clean your system and the registry etc. Then you should download and instal a program called "Mallwarebytes" It's free and will clean out your system of any trojans and mallware. As far as the printer and burner is concerned sometimes the drivers have bugs in them. You can uninstall the drivers and then do a reinstall if mallwarebytes and the scan found problems with them. Let me know how you make out with this. We can try other stuff too... From one geek to another LOL...Hank

I need to connect a 34oo series lexmark printer to a dell comp. xp

Not sure how much I can help you.

*Turn computer off.
*Plug printer into a port on the back of your computer. There are very few ports so you should be able to find one that makes your printer plug. Plug printer into power strip/outlet.
*Turn computer back on.
*Keep printer off for now. During installation it should tell you to turn the printer on.
*Put the CD that came with the printer into the cd/dvd drive. A menu should appear. You want to "Install" or "Setup" your printer. Something along those lines. Follow the instruction from there.
*After successful installation of the printer restart the computer.

That is as basic as I can make it. I hope this helps.

Gateway computer, cannot get printer to work.

Go into "printers and faxs",delete your printer and then reinstall it . It should be "plug and play"if not you will have to use your disc or let "windows" search for a driver.

ok you can not just simply download drives from the internet. If you have a home computer that is plugged into the printer that has bluetooth then get a bluetooth usb and plug into the laptop, and it should print from the laptop.

Printer reinstalling

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the drivers for your specific printer. Use this to try and reinstall. Windows will usually try to reinstall the drivers it already has whether they are damaged or not unless you tell it otherwise.
