Question about Bissell 1699 ProHeat Clear View Upright Steam Vacuum
I went to use my bissell proheat the other day (ive had it for about 3yrs) and it just made a really loud awkward noise and it started to smell like it was smoking. It was not sucking up any of the water once i sprayed it onto the floor as well. i replaced both belts after this and the problem is still not fixed. I made sure the flow indicator was clear of lint as well as the filter inside the water tank. do you have any idea what might be wrong and if its even worth fixing?
Depends on what kind of smell, if it is electrical, then the motor is probably the problem. If rubber or plastic, then it could be the brush roll, did you inspect the brush roll ends? Try to turn the motor shaft to see if is turning or froze up. If froze up, then the motor is bad. If it is the motor, you would lokk at maybe $110 to $125 for a repair, parts and labor.
