Hi, I cleaned the air filter on the Hitachi CP- RX60 projector and followed instructions on the resetting of the timer. Using the remote it jumps (in the menu) out of the cancel mode to sub menu and it will not let me high light the reset. There is no reset on the projector itself. How can I clear the air filter message when I start up the projector?
How can I reset a lamp timer after replacing a new lamp in a hitachi cp-s335 multimedia projector, or where is the reset switch located?
If you do not have a remote here is how to reset the filter time. Use the "Menu" bottun to get the "easy menu" to display. Push the down arrow until you get to "Filter Time," then push and hold the RIGHT arrow to reset the filter time. DO NOT try to reset using the "Reset" option on the easy menu, it will not work.

Re: Resetting the air filter timer
Hitachi CP- RX60:
Press the RESET button on the remote control or the right-pointing triangle button on the projector for about 3 seconds. Once you see the RESET dialog, use the upward-pointing triangle to RESET. I can't see what you are or are not doing...so please see page 39 of the user's manual (download found below)
"The lamp time is the time counted after the last resetting. It is shown in the OPTION menu as the use time of the lamp. Pressing the RESET button on the remote control for about 3 seconds displays a dialog. To reset the lamp time, select the RESET option using the (triangle) button."

Sometimes the reset on that timer can be picky. Here is the snippet from the manual that suggests you hold the reset for 3 seconds:
If it were me I would skip using the remote and follow these steps using the panel on top of the projector (using the arrows, etc) . Hold the right arrow to get the reset until it shows, rather than trying to count the seconds...
Procedure for resetting filter time.
Pressing the RESET button for about 3 seconds displays the FILTER TIME
Select the RESET using button to reset the timer. :
RESET <- CANCEL
Selecting the RESET resets the count of the lamp timer to 0.
memo Perform this function only when you have cleaned or replaced the air
filter. The filter timer counts the used time of the air filter after cleaning or
replacement, to display the messages about the air filter. Incorrect performing
causes incorrect operation of the messages.
memo About caring for the air filter, please refer to the section "Air Filter".

Good info deserves a good thumbs up! Thank you!
Specifically i don't know. What i do know is mfg's use the same codes, whether they map them to the same functions across a series of remotes can't say for sure. Experiance tells me it will be just fine...
What you want to do is go to the advanced menu, find the filter time and using the remote hold down reset button for 3 seconds or so while the filter time is selected. This will bring up a reset menu and reset the timer.
Hiya there, just worked out how to reset the filter timer so for those that need to know here's the solution;
Bring up the menu and go right the way down to "Option" where it shows you the lamp and filter hours.
Next highlight/select the filter timer section and while its on there hold the RESET button on the remote for 5 seconds.. this then pops up with a resert option and hey, 0h again, good as new! :-) Oh and if you dont have a remote, just hold the right arrow button instead for 5 seconds in place of the reset and follow instructions as above! Hope this helps.
