Can you check the network or lan setting maybe because of the update the configuration is changes. try to re install the lan driver from your cdrom motherboard driver.

My friend has a msi motherboard. a ms-7267 and he needs a driver to connect to the internet so the online driver finders are virtualy useless. and i cant find anything but them

There are a lot of models of this ms-7267 mainboard,
Most of them have a Realtek LAN chip on board.

Drivers for the Realtek 810X 10/100 Mbp/s LAN.
Drivers for the Realtek 8168/811X 10/100/1000 Mbp/s LAN.

I had unplugged my wireless modem and now I cannot get it to connect to the internet. I tried to reboot and nothing worked. It is recognized in my computer.

Try unplugging and reconnecting Ethernet cable to modem. Reset the modem if there is a separate modem than the wireless modem (i.e. Cable modem). Your pc acknowledging the wireless modem does not mean your Internet should work, although a prerequisite... If this is no help, may need to connect to wireless modem (via http://ip address) and configure settings. It's likely though the issue is wireless modem not communicating with cable modem correctly if you have a set up like that.

I am getting 1 long beep and then 6 short ones

Hi canturob,
When a system reports a check sum error the bios is telling you the information stored from the last working boot does not match the current settings stored in the bios. Please power down your MSI system, unplug the power cord. Open the case & clear the bios. Location of JBAT1 on page 3 in manual.
Clear CMOS Jumper: JBAT1 page 10 in the manual. Remove the battery/cmos. Check it's voltage with a volt meter. It should test to 3volts DC. Anything less & the battery needs to be replaced.
While in the case re-check all data cables & power cables for good connection.
The MSI board uses the Award bios. Your current beep code of 1 long & six short is not a common beep code for the Award bios. See bios beep codes here: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

If the battery checks out ok, you may need to update the bios. Go to MSI: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=1&prod_no=205
To update your MSI bios (Option only if bios clear fails to resolves the check sum issue).

Good luck canturob!

SATA's compatibility , motherboard update?

Hi k439,
Keep in mind that all serial ATA SATA hard disk drives are seen in the main bios menu as a Primary Master drive. When you load the bios you should see the SATA 320GB drive in the main menu, Standard CMOS Features. If you do not than the onboard SATA controller is defective. This can not be repaired. Only a motherboard replacement will fix this issue. You can go to MSI's web site below & allow MSI to check you're system for the latest bios upgrade. Follow their online instructions & update you're bios file but this will not fix you're onboard SATA controller. Click this link to MSI Live Update link: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=1&prod_no=205

Sorry k439

Please allow MSI to run the (Live Update) program on you're system. If you allow this to run you will not need to download & flash you're bios.
That is what MSI states! Click on the link below for Live Updt.

System reboots when acpi turned off

Hi martinkp, what you need is the update from windows. Leave you're acpi enabled withing the bios. Check windows update. Windows will update (windows software for the acpi). Rule of thumb concerning windows update. Check the dates of the updates & install in order, oldest to newest. This should fix you're system from shutting down. There will be no reason to turn off acpi after updating.
