Bios update hi all after msi live update 3 as update the bios i cant use internet it look like it can not get ip i unpluged the modem and all cable i am looking for uninstall the updat for the bios msi PM8PM-V hope u understend my english

Check for settings on that wireless router it should be setted up on reclaim ip automatically ,and on your stabile router( 2nd one) set the same setting also.

Hi hartterc, there is a bios update for the onboard integrated LAN card. The update, Set "Onboard LAN Boot ROM" to Enabled in BIOS. Bios Version 6.2 Date; 9-02-2006 File size 380KB.
Please allow MSI to run the (Live Update) program on you're system. If you allow this to run you will not need to download & flash you're bios.

fast blinking wan light may indicates that it receiving or sending data. try the ff and see if this may work:

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and test the Internet connection.

Hi martinkp, what you need is the update from windows. Leave you're acpi enabled withing the bios. Check windows update. Windows will update (windows software for the acpi). Rule of thumb concerning windows update. Check the dates of the updates & install in order, oldest to newest. This should fix you're system from shutting down. There will be no reason to turn off acpi after updating.

Cable modem or DSL? If cable modem without phone service, modem power has to be unplugged 2 minutes before the router is connected in order to release the mac address from memory. If cable modem with phone service, same thing applies, but battery backup must also be disconnected.
DSL modem may require PPPoE setup into router.

try resetting your router & modem.unplug modem,unplug router....plug up your modem wait 4 all the little lights 2 light up & then plug up your router.if that doesn't work i don't know ;)

Hi you will need to either do the following:

1. extend the dhcp leasing function within the router by increasing the time for the lease, usually this is in minutes
2. manually assign the ip address so ud ont have this problem ever again
3. renew the ip address via xbox 360
4. it could just mean the xbox live server is temp down.

first try resetting your connection, unplug your modem or router for 30 seconds and see if you get a connection. after that it would be a software issue. more likely its failing to update because you have NO internet signal. try also, re-configuring your network IP settings which is usually automatic- with no disk in or through the dashboard. if you can get into dashboard try manually putting these in.. but like i said try unplugging your modem for at least 30 seconds to update the IP. good news... if microsoft has to repair it theres a good chance youll get a brand new system though it might take a few weeks at least. is this with a brand new system?
