I have a Triton topaz 100i shower, recently the water would not heat up, when i opened it the thermal cut out was in pieces, i have now replaced this, but now, no water comes out at all. If i short the thermal cut out, the water comes out, but it is still cold, any ideas

Its the thermal cut-out... when there is something like limescale that causes the temp to get over 50c - the thermal cut out is
activated... it has to be replaced... which u can buy it from triton or get an engineer out to replace it

tip... make sure u clean the shower and shower heads often with a limescale remover....

Cannot locate the thermal cut out in the shower unit

Most of the time, these are an auto reset type. But I would recommend calling the manufacture. They usually have an 800 number for you to call. Or you might be able to find the info on their website and or possibly download the installation and user manual for it.

hi it sounds as though the thermostat has gone on top of the can assembly, or moreover it has scaled up & the element needs replacing, if thats the case your better off buying a new unit as the cost of the can assembly & the fitting it will be nearly as much, plus witha new unit you'll be getting a 2 yr guarantee?
Just a thought!

Triton opal electric shower overflow pipe

hi rob the problem is due to an activated thermal overheat switch, you cannot reset this unit as once it is activated it will require a new unit, its a nuisance i agree as i come across this regularly, however its condusive of a scaled up unit so you eventually turn up the shower setting higher to get the water hotter, & inturn activates the thermal switch.
According to which model it is the part is not that overly expensive, you can phone triton direct 7 they will post a new spare to you
