You should not need to go to the ASUS website Click Here Select "optical storage" "DVD-RW" and select your drive from the dropdown list.
You will then need to select your Operating system and then you will be able to download your drivers

If it is not registering in your OS as a drive and doesn't map in BIOS then the drive is bad and needs to be replaced. It's about $25 USD from www.newegg.com or there are other brands around the same price.

ASUS DRW 1608 P3S will not load CD Rom computer program disks (it makes clicking sounds then green light goes off and nothing happens). It will play movies but there is no audio, however it will play CD's...
the lazer is not reading try cleaning it with a lazer disc cleaner. but remember most pc burners need replacing after just 2 yrs of work as there lazers burn out fast

Spend $40 and buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer;
this is much cheaper than paying a technician to _attempt_ to trouble-shoot.

Choose Optical storage then DVD RW then your model number

The DRW-2014L1T is a DVD-RW and the drivers are incorporated with windows drivers. Are you looking for the burning software, like Nero or Roxio? Or is the unit not working at all?

try reinstalling your operating system ( try format your cd or just repair it). The system will automatically detect the driver for your drive but if it was not listed in the bios try checking the cables attached to your drive.. or still if not.. the drive may be damaged.

DRW-1814BLT compatibility with IDE hard drive
put hard drive as Master. dvd rw as slave!
if DVD comes with sata then just put hard drive as master.
configure it on the bios setting!
if it still don't detect it
try replacing IDE cable and sata cable!

The above internal burner not picking up blanck dvd-r
strictly speaking this is the correct response from your writer, as the disk "is" blank. Your DVD burning software, Like cloneDVD or Nero, should recognise the "blank" and then allow you to burn your disk image. you need to check that your DVD/CD authoring software is installed correctly and updated for all the latest features.
