Have a Nordmende NM32780 tv it keeps powering off itself and its not the power button sticking. Any ideas?

Question edited for clarity, your television is 'Nordmende', not 'Norfmende'.

Time for a new one, but try the power reset first as mentioned here.

If I read and understand correctly somewhere in the cycle you are getting 5 red blinks? that is an error code........

Either you or I can Google the model number of the set with 5 blinks.....or visit the Sony site to see what it means.....

while the TV is on standby, press the channel + or channel - button on the TV and the TV should power on.

If TV doesn't power on after pressing the channel button, then it means your TV is having a power problem. But I don't what to believe it is a power problem.

Let me know if press the channel button does not power on the TV so that I can explain further on the cause and way to fix the problem.

your tv receiver has a power supply "CHOPPER" ,comuttor about 100khz frequency marked as "MAINS" . My oppinnion is the capacitors in this power module are aged by {or temperature ,or age}

The power relay driver or the relay itself is bad. Its sticking closed so the voltage is there for the power supply but the micro has turned off the tuner.
