The problem is using lense cleaners they are really not that good the only proper way is remove the case and clean the lense by hand this shouldnt be done if you are not capable of this as your working with laser products so be warned.

Failing this then the laser is no good and needs replacing

    You need to clean the lens manually.
    To do this you have to disconnect dvd from power.
    then remove dvd cover.
    Clean lens gently first with lens cleaning solution and a soft cloth.
    Then apply isopropyl alcohol
    let dry well and take care not to leave cloth hair on the lens
    Close cover and restart.
    Here is how the inside looks like

I need help fixing my DVD-PLAYER. The model number is- PANASONIC SC-DT100. The problem with my DVD-PLAYER is that it won't play original DVDs, it used to before but not anymore. I some how did something...

Hi Zainab

The issue usually related to more than one possibilities. First possibility; the obstacle in front of laser beam lens. Sometime by natural causes the DVD lens collect tiny amount of dust which makes the laser reflection on CD weaker. since copied DVDs has different track structure it might be better reflected.

Second possibility is your region code has been changed. Copied DVDs usualy come with region "0". You might try to set your region again.

You may perform lens cleaning by obtaining an easy to find DVD cleaner set.

Please post if you have further questions

Good Luck

My rca mobile dvd player is saying no disk or playing the start of a movie then freezing

its either the dvd lens is burnt out or dirty or the disc you are trying to play is dirty or damage try to clean the disc with a clean cloth wiping it outward in one direction, if you already tried other disc or tried the same disc on other players and it works it might be the lens. try to get a dvd lens cleaner if that did not work you might need to re-align the lens or replace it.
hope that helps. please rate

Dvd wont play says wrong disc

If this happen with all disks , then the lens are dirty or faulty.

Try cleaning the lens with a cleaner DVD. If that is not enough, then the player must be taken apart to clean lens with isopropyl alcohol and cotton, or to replace the lens pickup.

Before attempting repair call manufacturer or retailer to check warranty status.

Dvd won't play disc

hi. the actual lens assembly has become unstable and this is misaligned the lens. it is unable to line up correctly with the inserted disk so that it may recognize and read the data. when this occurs, the default reading will be WRONG DISK.

You with have to replace the entire lens assembly, which is one whole piece, to actually restore this unit to its original state.

Please rate and god less:)

Pionner DVR-540H-S no longer plays DVD's

little,

good day, true it's not advisable to use disc cleaner for it may also damage or scracth the optic lens inside.Possibly the optic lens of your player is either dirty caust by dust or faulty. but let's do hope it's only dust related and the only thing you can do now is to open and unscrew the upper cover of your player. Get a soft cotton buds, after dismantling the upper cover locate the optic drive lens and clean the lens by wipping it gently in circular direction. then try to play some DVD.

cheers,
mark

Won't play dvd

Most DVD players that would not play a disc even with a known good disc inside signifies that the llaser eye/lens is not reading the disc. This could probably be attributed to:
1. dirty, damaged, inverted, blank, un-finalized burned CDs or DVDs;
2. defective, weak, dirty/dusty burned-out laser eye/lens;
3. defective slider shafting (where the laser eye's carriage moves) or some other components.

A few things you can try:
1. Use a CD cleaner (readily available from most computer shops);
2. use a can of compressed air and blow through the inside of the loaded disc area;
3. gently tap on the top cover where you estimate the reading/laser eye/lens would be;
4. gently press on the tray door once the disc is loaded.

Should this not be corrective, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified professional such as those in a Service Center. Alternately, your friendly neighborhood electronic shop should do just fine.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kindest regards.

It may be that the lens on your player is dusty, and with nice clean well cared for disks, like the ones you own, it's ok, but for disks that have small scratches or bigger smudges on them, (look carefully on the rented ones) it may be just enough more that it confuses the player.  you might look into getting one of the lens cleaner disks you can find in electronics stores.
