Question about HP PhotoSmart 7760 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer is not turning on

I took the color cartridge out to shake it and failed to get the lid snapped doen tight. Hence it got stuck under the cover on the left side. I turn the printed off to work on the getting the cartridge loose. I got it loose and it would not turn back on. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the printer. I have tried holding the on button down a long time. No luck so far.

Generally all cartridges must be securely in place before printer will power up. Make sure that all (including the one that was not right) are now securely and properly in place. Then, I would sugget actually unplugging for at least 2 minutes, in order to ensure anything that could be "stuck" in memory clears. Then attempt to power it back up and it should work. (As an aside - did you replace the cartridge at issue with a new one, or just put it back in once it was fixed? If you don't power on with the above, replace that with a new one.) How do i install mt inks

Please follow the steps below on how to install/replace ink cartridges on your model:
  1. Make sure the All-In-One is on.
  2. Lift the scanner unit until the scanner support keeps it open. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the All-In-One is busy.
  3. Grasp the tabs on the cartridge lids, and then lift the lids.
  4. Remove the old cartridges. Store them in an air-tight container or dispose of them.
  5. If you are installing new cartridges, remove the stickers and transparent tape from the bottom of the cartridges.
  6. Insert the new cartridges. Make sure the black print cartridge is secure in the right carrier and the color cartridge is secure in the left carrier, and then snap the lids closed.
  7. Lift the scanner unit and push the scanner support back while lowering the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

How do I slide the green toner tabs?

1. power down the printer.
2. remove all color cartridges from their slots.
3. inside the color slot, you will see a green slide that will not move until you pick up the plastic cover (it is the full length of the cartridge holder).
4. rotate the plastic cover forward.
5. slide the green slide 3 or 4 times. (DO NOT TOUCH SMALL WIRES!)
6. return slide to original position.
7. snap the plastic cover back in place
8. return each color cartridge to it's slot.
9. replace color cartridge holder back to printer.
10. close all covers
11. turn printer back on.

If you still get the "move green slide" error, just repeat these steps

This took me about 10 minutes for the process, after understanding what the "green slide" meant.

DELL PHOTO 926- ALL IN ONE- ERROR CODE- "UNSUPPORTED INK CARTRIDGE" HOW TO FIX THIS?

Follow the below instructions

  1. Lift the printer unit up. Position the scanner support beam between the tabs to hold the printer unit lid open. The ink cartridge carrier moves to the loading position in the center of the printer.

  2. Press down on the lever in front of the right and left ink cartridges lid. The lid opens and raises up.

  3. Remove the color and black ink cartridges from the carrier. Inspect the cartridges to ensure that it is compatible with the Dell 926 printer. The proper cartridge is called Dell 926 Standard Capacity Color Ink and Dell Standard Capacity Black Ink.

  4. Examine the cartridges for any tape over the ink nozzle. New cartridges have a strip of tape covering the bottom of the cartridge that must be removed before installing into the printer.

  5. Insert the cartridges into the carrier so the label is on top with the color logo side going in first. Press the lid down to snap it into place.

  6. Push the scanner support bar back to release it. Lower the printer unit until it is closed.

  7. Turn the printer off. Restart the computer. Turn the printer on. If the error message appears again, the cartridges may be defective and needs to be replaced.

I hope this clears up your problem.

Error message 50c on printer

I had the same error message 50c and "color Ink low". I knew that I still had Black Ink, and that is what I just needed for the moment, so I removed the color Ink cartridge and it started working. You'll get a message 'print cartridge missing' but just press continue.
Hope this helps,
