Tv monitor won't turn on

Hi, guys. i know very little techincal stuff, so please just answer in "english."

our flat screen tv monitor won't turn on. the little light that says whether it's on (green) or asleep (red) is out. a few months ago when this happened, my husband unplugged both the monitor and satellite, and replugged it, and it worked. this time, nothing. other things that are on the same power strip (satellite, sound system, and DVD/VCR) work just fine, but the monitor remains blank and dead. my husband is having serious withdrawals!

suggestions?

Mine just started doing the same thing. We click the power and the
green comes on for about five seconds, then it clicks off and the red
light in the middle starts blinking. I hope someone has a suggestion.

Vsonic flat screen monitor need blink codes

hi do you mean you are asking for the blinking codes on your viewsonic pc monitor?. usually lcd monitor for pc has no blinking codes, if your monitor just only a blinking indicator and won't turn on, you must check first the source from your pc if their is a signal to turn on the monitor. if just blinking only then won't turn on you must check the power supply of the monitor usually the main cause is bulging capacitor. just replace it with the same value and rating thanks for consulting the fixya good luck.

When the power is turned on, the screen stays black (nothing is displayed-totally dead). Then it won't turn back off unless I unplug it. The model is DX-LCD37. It doesn't matter if I use the pannel...

Had a very similar problem with mine - not sure if this will help or not, but it seems to be doing the trick (channels scanning as I type).
I unplugged the tv for about an hour. I unplugged the cable, and all the components. Then I turned the tv on, and was able to get to the menu screen. Previously, I couldn't change channels or even power off from the buttons on the side of the unit either...
Once there, I plugged the coaxial cable directly into the side of the set, then ran the auto-scan.
I know it's not a techincal answer, and a bit strange, but as I mentioned, it seems to be working for my issue.

Good luck!

T elevision picture is b&w when turned on also screen will turnred then green remote wont work nor the buttons on the side

vern679, When strange crazy stuff occurs with LCD TV/Monitors, you should always suspect that the cause will be an unstable or failed "switch-mode-power-supply" inside the unit. Please let us here at fixya know how you resolve this LCD monitor issue!! Bye for now. 12fixlouie
