Question about Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

1 Answer

OK, Internet Explorer 7 or 8 will not work on my computer. It mysteriously stopped working. I use Firefox but sometimes I need IE. The page just says connecting, connecting and when it stops...nothing on the page just customize your settings. I have already did the no add-ons, the reset IE under the Advance tab under system tools. Nothing is working. I uninstalled IE 8 all together, I did not see IE 7 in my add or remove programs lists, so I am assuming it's still floating around. Now Firefox and Safari(I had to download iTunes and Apple thought it was a grand idea to include this) but both work beautifully. What can I do? I did registry fixes still nothing works I am running Windows XP Pro Service pack 3 Juno DSL Dell GX 6200 (?) Can someone help me please? Thx in advance!

Check your add-remove and see if Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 service pack 2, 3.0 service pack 2, and 3.5 SP1 are installed. If not, you will have to go to windows update and get them if you want to use IE 8.

Wifi internet connected, internet explorer will not load web page

Get a new internet browser, download Firefox from here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%2031.0.exe

Then make sure your computer time clock is correct, you can adjust the time and date by right clicking on the clock and then read the rest.

If that doesn't work you need to check your wifi router, you might need to unplug it for 1 minute then plug it back in.

If that doesn't work you need to check your Proxy settings in Internet Explorer. Do this by opening IE, then go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Uncheck all boxes then click Apply/Ok and exit IE and try again.

Just use Firefox, it is much better than IE, for many reasons.

Internet explorer 11 box says it has stopped working

Internet Explorer (IE) is now dead just like the Operating System Microsoft Windows XP... They are no longer providing support for IE (For any versions). Your best option is to find a suitable replacement for IE such as Mozilla Firefox...

Try a scan with your virus scan, then with a malware scanner, i use Malwarebytes.
I would then use CCleaner, use the registry cleaner also.
This will clean out all your temp files, and remove any registry errors that may be causing IE from starting properly.
You could also use Firefox, or chrome as your browser if this does not fix it

Everytime I go to youtube, IE says cannot display the page.

You could try FireFox... You can get it from www.mozilla.com/firefox
Then you will need the latest flash players for it. Try googling "firefox flash player", that should work

Facebook supports IE 7, and firefox so it is not internet explorer 7
it is the server at facebook.

Open internet options and delete all your browser history and temp files, delete everything, this is on the main page under browsing history.
