Since the H21 does not have a coax out then I think you will need to go to the TV first and then to your DVD/VCR. In order for me to help you fully, when is the make/model of your TV. And for the sake of completion, if you have a AV receiver (home theatre or surround sound stereo) what is it's make and model. I will then be able to describe exactly how you should connect everything up. Thanks.

How do I know if my BlueRay player is compatible with Netflix?

If you let us know the make and model that will help. Can you connect your BluRay to the Interent? If so do a firmware/app update.
If you can't connect to the internet then NetFlix won't work.

No idea what you mean about removing Direct TV.

I have a Toshiba tv that is connected to Direct tv and I want to know how to connect my new Phillips dvd player to it my tv?

Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

Hook up player

Your TV hopefully supportsw more then one unit connecting to it. if not you will need to use an input on one of your units (direct tv unit or DVD player) for the other unit. Example your direct tv is connected to your TV, on the back of your direct tv unit is a video /audio input. connect your dvd player to that input. on your direct tv remote or menu should be an option to use that input.

Prior to the recent installation of Direct TV I was with DISH. I switched to Direct when Dish attempted to charge me for a new full package cost because I wanted to re-activate a Dish receiver which I had...

After it is hooked up, it should have a white screen saying "searching for satellite signal." After fifteen or twenty minutes, it will go to a black screen saying the same thing in a blue box. Once you are there, you can prerss the LIST button on the remote and record and copy your selected shows. This is assuming you have a newer DVR. Model R15 or higher. thanks keep updated

This is not the best solution but since your DirecTV receiver doesn't do UHF/VHF and the only other input is in the front you will have to have it that way

Connect your H21 to your TV however you wish but I would use HDMI if I were you.

Connect either V1 or V2 and the L and R from the H21 to the front inputs on the VCR/DVD. Due to the lack of outputs on the H21 and the lack of inputs on the VCD/DVD that is all that is available.

Now connect the VCR/DVD (Yellow/Red/White) output on the JVC to the video in and matching L and R audio ins on the TV, this will allow you to watch VHS tapes and DVD over the analog connection.

Lastly, you want to connect the component video out on the DVD to the Y, Pb, and Pr inputs as well as the L and R audio out on the DVD side to the matching L and R audio in on the TV to get a better picture when watching DVDs and to enable widescreen DVDs.

Know what I will take a few minutes and will draw up a diagram that will hopefully make more sense than this. I should have it for you by the end of the day.
