Hello,

  1. Click the Windows START button in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
  2. From the menu, choose SETTINGS and then CONTROL PANEL.
  3. The Control Panel window opens. Click the DISPLAY icon.
  4. The DISPLAY PROPERTIES dialog box opens. Click the SETTINGS tab.
  5. In the SCREEN AREA box, use the slider to adjust the monitor settings. Towards LESS will make everything on the screen bigger; towards MORE will make everything on the screen smaller.
  6. Click the APPLY button. The Display Properties message box opens, announcing a fifteen second delay before the changes take effect. If you would like to continue, either wait or click OK.
Take care.

No. None of what you suggest was possible because I could not get to a start menu.

I needed a DOS prompt which I found.

My problem has been solved so please close this request. Thank you.

    Yes it does.

I would have assumed an answer would have been a bit speedier.

I feel like I wasted my money here and will never use this services again.

It seems like graphics resoluation setting is changed and is beyond the range your monitor can support, what colour is the power light of monitor? as there is no model of the monitor, I can recommend to connect a bit newer version of monitor and see if the screen is on, if not then it will be graphics card settings.

DISPLAYING ON SCREEN THAT VIDEO INPUT OUT OF RANGE

Right click on the back ground of the computer desktop. If windows XP click properties, if vista click personalise. Now look for settings and move the resolution slider to 1024 X 768. This is the native resolution for this monitor.

If you still have the HZ error, click on advance look for the monitor tab, and make sure it is set to 60Hz

Input signal out of range......my problem...hp w1707

your video card setting may not be compatible with your monitor's capability. you may need to reduce the screen resolution. you need to boot up on safe mode to change this or use another monitor for a while and try to adjust the screen resolution.

After Windows has started and the setup screens show, my Kogi monitor says "out of range" and the screen goes black. How can I fix this?

Set the resolution lower.

It is telling you that the resolution you want is beyond its normal operating range.

just drop it to lets say 800 x 600
Then bump it up one resolution at a time until you get the message again, then drop it back one.

Running monitors above the acceptable range can drastically shorten their lifespan.

Cannot remove "input signal out of range"

input signal out of range would normally indicate the the screen resoloution is either too high or too low for the monitor to display properly.

is this on just one game? which version of windows do you use?

Input Signal Out Of Range

Some monitors have low resolution, that if it doesn't support that resolution then you'll expect an "input signal out of range" message on screen. try to boot on "safe mode" if it works then you have to lower your screen resolution at "display properties" if not then the monitor has a defective data cable. ;)
