Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 / DMC-FT1 Digital Camera
Checked all doors were shut properly and went snorkleing now camera wont turn on at all. charged the battery, removed memory card, recharged battery, no luck please help.
The sad saga of buggered u/w cameras continues. Check the interior of your camera carefully for any sigh of salt which will look like white crusty deposits or resulting corrosion. If you find same, it a major repair or toss the camera. One must be *extremely* careful when cleaning the seals and closing up an underwater camera. The slightest contamination on the seals such as lint, a hair, a grain of sand or whatever, is all it takes.
Consider cameras used on or around or under salt water as an expendable item. Harsh but true in my long experience in U/W
photography. Was NOT much of a problem with w/ film cameras, but the modern electronic wonders are very delicate.
