Question about Microwave Ovens

2 Answers

I have a Sunbeam Intuitive coffee automat. It is a replacement under warranty, but still has a problem: Often when I switch it on instead of going through the routine of rinsing, etc IT MAKES A BUZZING SOUND; AS IF SOME GEAR WASLOCKED. Only by giving it a whack, or by repeated swtching on and off can it be deblocked. Incidentally, after such an ~episode~ the brewing unit cannot be removed.

The replacement is defective, don't fool with it return it for another replacement under warranty, if u try to fix it yourself u will void the warranty.

Sadly, the warranty has expired. I would not gone to you if replacing it were a solution!

Incidentally, the advice given to me to clean the brewing unit is complwetely off the mark! As I insisted on my description of the problem, it something to do with the drive if the coffee brewing unit. Some geat appear not to engage properly. A diagram of the interior of the automatic coffee making machine Sunbeam Intuitive would be of real help

Jawantha, it is a COFFEE AUTOMAT, NOT A MICROWAVE! The noise is mechanical, some gear does not engage properly.

    Hi
You might need a brew head cleaning. It can get pluged with coffee residue and oils. But you could also have a bent injector valve or gate valve. But I would try this first.

Remove the brew unit. Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front side towards the door (looks like a long "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring and at the end a black rubber disk.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember, thumbscrew), DON’T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. A big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel, insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head. That should do it

My Sunbeam Microwave SGB8901 lights up and seems to be working, but it doesn't heat anything. Is this fixable?

Only 2 years old? Hopefully you still have owner's manual, troubleshooting section should help you look for the problem. Hopefully, there is a circuit breaker, or perhaps a fuse. I hope it was not used with a metal object accidentally. No help? Check with Sunbeam Customer service, be nice, they usually are helpful.

How do i replace a fuse on sunbeam microwave

If it does not heat, the magnetron tube died. Not worth repairing unless under warranty. Generally the only fuse is a main fuse. If it blew, the entire microwave would be dead.

I have a brand new sunbeam microwave and it dont heat up but it comes on

Assuming you're using it according to the owner's manuals, I'd say it's defective.

Since it's new, I would assume it's under warranty.

If it's not beyond the seller's return date (usually 30 days), you can return it.

If it's beyond that, the manufacturer will repair it under warranty.

In that case, you'd need to consult your manual for instructions and contact information.

Your machine is new and its under warranty you have rights to replace it with new one. Call your dealer where you brought it, it's either they will replace it or send a service technician.
It will void the warranty if you try to unscrew something.
I hope my advice gives you an idea regarding your unit problem.

Perhaps it is a domestic machine used commercially, in which case it has probably served you and your clients well however, try replacing the switch actuator and if under 12 months old, have a go for a warranty repair!

Will not start making coffee push start after 30 second message on screen err2 model kcm5340bo gerald larsen 1-630-323-3112

This is to do with an error in the warming plate function. You may be able to cure this error by completely unplugging the coffee maker from the mains lead and then plugging it back in and trying to brew. If this does not help I would suggest trying to contact the manufacturer to see if it is still under warranty.

Hope this helps and thank you for usinf FixYa
