You need to reinstall adobe completely.
It sounds like you can't do this because some adobe services are running. You need to stop these services before removing and reinstalling. To do so you need to open Microsoft Configuration Utility. Click "Start" then "Run" and type in "msconfig" then press enter. The utility will have several different tabbed screens, choose "Startup" and un-check the boxes next to any adobe software. One example is the startup item "Reader_sl", depending on the version of adobe and adobe software you are running the number and names of these startup items will vary.
Reboot your computer.
After the computer has restarted, be sure not to open up any browser windows or anything that will trigger an adobe program to run (any flash-based programs, websites, etc.)
Completely uninstall adobe, download a fresh version of the latest adobe software and reinstall.
You will no longer have an error.

papamarks, sorry about the delay for one reason or another I was not getting the emails or updates on comments here.
It sounds as though you may have some type of infection - viral and malware infections often target internet connectivity and specifically downloading executable files first.
I would start with cleaning your computer. If you already have an antivirus/malware program loaded on your computer (such as Norton, Symantec, McAfee, Malware Byte's...) you should update that and run a full system scan. If you do not have an antiviral program installed, follow my tip on how to download and install one of the leading antivirus programs that are free for life, here:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r5317428-ac...
NOTE: for all downloads, if they will not work on your computer then you need to use a different, un-infected computer. Download the file, and be sure it is in the correct format to work for the computer you will be installing the file on (correct OS) and use a flash drive to move the executables from one computer to another.
Once you have successfully cleaned out your computer, attempt to download flash and acrobat from their website again - it is free by the way, at least for the basic editions and can be downloaded here:http://www.adobe.com/ just click on the links for each program on the right.
If your internet is still not allowing you to download things please write back. Also if your other computer on the same network cannot download then it is likely a router configuration issue - please write back. Finally, if this fixes everything (as it should) then congratulations!

I don't know how it happened, but I was in Facebooks, one of my friends sent me an application he/she wanted me to join, when I click onto it, it asked if I wanted to install Flashplayer 10.1
for some unknown reason, I did. It worked, I'm so stupped on how this worked, I think it might have something to do already being active in the site. I'm not sure if this solves my problem, but at least I'm able to play games again. I will contact you on Monday if declair this matter settled if I have no further problems, I have to reset my security features, get alot of things done besides playing games.
I want to thank-you for your continued assistance in this matter. Please pass that onto the others techs for their inputs too. I really like the program codes for cleaning out my PC.
Fyi: my virus protection comes from Roadrunner. (cable) I'm using cable for my server.
till next msg, have a good weekend. (end text).

There will be an update because of security issues. Read this blog:
http://securitywatch.eweek.com/exploits_and_attacks/adobe_issues_massive_flash_security_update.html
I suspect your problem is related to this issue.
Hi the best way to remove the program would be in add and remove programs in the control panel, there should be an un-install for the program itself, if not your best bet would be to start your system in safe mode, then try running the un-installer as this program has in-bedded files and if they are running at the time, it will not allow you to remove the program until all instances are turned off, there is another way but its a bit long winded for you to do, but you can press ctrl alt del, and get the task manager up and then find anything that has adobe in it, but you might not get them all, as some files are named silly things that do not reassemble anything like adobe that's why its a bit hit or miss if you do not know what your doing, so i think you would be better off doing what i said , start system in safe mode then doing the add/remove programs....hope that helps

Pulk, What do you recommend I should do about this acrobate damaged program, I'm not able to run 80% of my programs now, or go into sites I need to update everyone month.
FYI: IF adobe company helps me it's going to cost 40.00 that I don't have to spare, & it's not a garentee that it will work.
Are you capable to take a look at it on your end? If so, do I have to provide you with permission to access my PC?
IF no; Then should I just purchase a new Adobe acrobatics & replace the one that's damaged.

After seeking advise on fixing my Adobe error, I'm found out that I have a damaged Adobe acrobatic program, I still can not dwnld adobe reader & flashplayer, what do you recommend?
I want to thank the first two techs for their support & assiance, but I still have questions, that have not been answered.
It was recommended that I delete the damaged Adboe acrobatic program.
1. I rcv'd this PC as a gift. I do not own disks to PC. or have them
2. If I delete Adobe acrobatic;
(A). can I dwnload anyother copy for free.
(B). IF yes, to (A), then I request a link.
(c). IF no, will I have to purchase a new program.
(D). IF yes to (C), what acrobatic program do you recommened I purchase with using Window XP home edition?
3. Thank you for Your time & assistance.
