Question about Compaq (261671-001) Motherboard

Cpu support I need a cpu support list for my ms-6577 v2.1. I just bought a 3.2Ghz P4 socket mpga478 to replace the 2.4Ghz but when Installed it I don't even get a post. I've cleard the cmos and still nothing. Can you help please? Thank you. Chris

Well I can say its a socket 478 P4 and you can probably only upgrade to about a 2.4Ghz P4 , probably not much of an upgrade, better to build or buy a new PC for around $500-$600

Do you know what the CPU socket is or chipset? If the CPU socket is a 478 then no dual core. If it a 775 then you might be able to use a Pentium D dual core w/ 800MHz FSB.
If you have a 945 chipset then the above will be true.
