Need manual for Travel Companion Model S1500 Alarm Clock

Travel alarm clocks can have varying instructions, depending on the type of clock you are using. Here are some tips for use that will apply to any alarm clock.

  1. Power source
    • Travel alarm clocks will need to have some sort of power source. Depending on the type of alarm clock, it might be battery-powered or it might have a cord that needs to be plugged in. Battery-powered alarm clocks can take mini watch batteries, AAA batteries or sometimes AA batteries. Travel alarm clocks, because of their tiny size, usually have the small batteries that need to be bought from a watch store or a dollar store. Before you leave, make sure you have a working power source and can turn it on.
    Changing the time
    • After you reach your final destination, power the alarm clock on. Now you'll need to set the time and date correctly. Check a watch, cell phone or television to get the exact time and locate the buttons or dials on your alarm clock. On some, there will be a "time" or an "hour" button you need to press and hold to activate the alarm time change. While you are holding it down, turn the dial, press the hour button or press the (+) button until you notice a time change. On others, simply pressing the hour or minute button will let you change the time shown.
    Setting AM/PM
    • The AM/PM option is critical in setting your alarm clock correctly. Make sure the LCD display on your clock has a light beside the correct AM or PM setting, or look for the letters AM or PM on the display. If you get this wrong, the alarm won't go off in the morning!
    Setting alarm time
    • To set the alarm time, look for a button or a switch that says alarm. If there is a switch, move it to the alarm setting. If it is a button, you'll need to hold it down until the time starts flashing, signaling time to change the hours and minutes to the desired alarm time, or hold it down while you press the hours and minutes buttons to reach the alarm time you want.
    Turn alarm on
    • Now double-check that your regular and alarm times are correct by switching the switch back and forth again, or by pressing the alarm/time buttons long enough to read the time set. There should be a picture of a bell somewhere on your LCD display showing that the alarm is set to "on." If there isn't, look for the on/off alarm button and move it to the correct position.
    Music options
    • The last step is finding the alarm wake-up option. Not all travel alarm clocks have this option, but if yours does there will be a switch or button that lets you choose to wake up by a buzzer, the radio, a CD, or another device.

I am trying to repair a Sunbeam Model T-35 radiant control toaster. Everything is working but I can't seem to get the timer control (for setting light and dark) set correctly. Is there some...

I have/had a similar problem. Here's how I fixed it.
UNPLUG THE TOASTER
1. Clean the crumbs out throughly. I removed the bottom of the toaster (6 screws) to make sure all the debris was removed. Use a soft brush. Replace bottom and tighten screws. 2. Gently brush the sensor area in the 'one slice' slot with a soft brush. 3. Remove 'darker-lighter' knob. I gently pried mine off with a small screwdriver. 4. Plug toaster in. 5. Put a slice of your usual bread in the 'one slice' slot. 6. Watch it toast. 7. When 'done' to your liking slowly rotate the control counter clockwise using a small screwdriver until the toaster stops toasting. 8. Replace knob with the pointer at the mid point (up and down) to allow for minor adjustments.

Greetings.

According to the product manual, press the 'ALARM ON/OFF' button on the back of the clock until the bell symbol and 'Zz' disappear from the display screen. These symbols are between the hour and minute digiits, above the colon ( : ).

If you would like to see the instructions, they are in .jpg format:

I dropped my battery operated alarm clock: the second hand still works but the alarm doesn't come on at the set time and the hour & minute hands don't "hold" their position - I took the clear...

The hour and minute hands can be pushed onto their respective shafts at any point in most clocks.
If you already know the time that the alarm is set, let the clock run until it sounds.
When the alarm sounds, install the hour hand and the minute hand to the exact alarm set time. If, say, the alarm is set for 6:30, push the hour hand onto it's shaft at exactly half way between 6 and 7 and then push the minute hand onto it's shaft pointing at exactly 6.
I think this should get you operating.

I have a Uni-com wireless doorbell, model 55075/SC352R. I would like instructions as I'm not finding it easy to reset things and have inadvertantly set the alarm and don't know how to turn it off!

With the display in normal mode showing the time, date and temperature and with the double dots flashing each second, press the MODE button. The first press will give you the option for setting 12 or 24 hours on the time display. The second press should bring up the setting for the alarm time. Press the SET button once and it flashes the hour for the alarm. Press it again and the minutes for the alarm will show. Pressing the SET button a third time lets you set the number for each musical tone choices for the alarm. A fourth press will ' set' the alarm so the alarm time will show, plus the number representing the ring tone you selected below the alarm time. Normally what you would do next is press MODE again 3 times to return to the ordinary time display. But if you want the alarm off, instead of doing this, press SET a fifth time and this will set the alarm time to 'off' and the display for the alarm will show '-:--' now press MODE 3 times or until you see the ordinary time display with the double dots flashing. You can check the alarm is off by pressing the ALARM button - it should still show '-:--'. The ALARM button is only for showing the alarm time which has been set, not for actually doing the setting. A quicker way, starting from the normal display with the seconds flashing on the time, is to just press the ALARM button once, then press SET 5 times then MODE 3 times.

I need to replace the belt on the power nozzle of my Hoover Dimension 1000 Model S3491. Unfortunately, I have no written instructions on how to do so. I purchased the vacuum cleaner in the mid-80s. Are the instructions still available? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I believe so, but you would have to contact the Hoover Factory and they would have to send out either the owner’s manual or a copy of the owner’s manual from the fische. I remember this vacuum cleaner well. In order to change the belt you need to remove the 4 screws in the bottom of the power nozzle and then the top cover will lift off from the back to the front and then you can get in to change the belt. Always use the Factory Genuine belts instead of the replacement belts, they last longer and the average belt change for a flat belt is every 4 to 6 months as a rule for the best cleaning. In order to change the belt, lift up the pulley side of the brushroll and slide off the old belt and then slide on the new belt and re-install the brushroll, then use a belt puller or screwdriver with a hook on the end and to pull or stretch the belt onto the motor pulley, once you have it on the vacuum track the belt in a straight line and then reinstall the top cover and screws in reverse. If you have questions please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
