Camcorder cassette holder stuck/won't eject

My Panasonic Camcorder (m# pv-gs2) won't eject. The cassette holder slid back into place without closing. So, now the cassette holder is sticking out of place and the cassette compartment cover won't close. I've been unable to get it to eject again.

Try taking the battery out...
