My acer aspire4310 notebook suddenly displays a white screen

I own an acer aspire4310 notebook and i have just formatted it to xp.. my problem is sometimes(about once in 2 days) it will suddenly display a mix white and light blue stripes and will completely turn white in a few minutes.. upon restarting it seems to boot normally but the flaw repeats a few days later.. please help me..


i have the same problem as the many of you who avail of the same unit(acer aspire 4310). My screen turns white without any cause at all. I thought it was the OS which is Vista so i reformatted it with Xp. Only to find out that same problem still accurs. What shall i do?

If you have blue strip running down vertically from top to bottom then normally there is a problem with LCD or a loose LCD cable.But what I recommend you to test more is tha,t if you tab at the back of your screen ...does this problem occur ???
Incase it does,then its a loose LCD cable problem.You still need
a qualified person who knows how to open the monitor to repair inside.
And again for the White screen it can also be both cases I mentioned above

The blue line is often caused by the cable being loose however more often then not it is caused bya defect in the video formatter board located just under the lcd screen. They sell for about 9.95 on ebay but then you should have them professionally installed.

Tell the tech to also clean out the fans and heatsinks inside the machine. this will prevent the new board from going bad.

i have a 4520 acer labtop , more than 4 times a day it truns off by showing a blue stripes screen and a wired sound . it froozes and i can not do anything about until i turn off the computer completly and i reboot it . please help . i was thinking may to purchase a biger memory 2 gb

I ALSO HAVE SAME LAPTOP, THE PROBLEM RESOLVED ONLY AFTER SCREEN REPLACEMENT. IF THE PROBLEM AGAIN PERSISTS THEN GIVE A CALL AGAIN TO ACER PEOPLE ( SERVICE ). OR ASK FOR REPLACEMENT
