The parental control password is entered during the setup procedure which you should be able to access using the remote. Once the setup menu is displayed on the screen, you should be able to guess your way through it to turn off the parental control
There is no front panel earphone jack for this TV. From the owners manual I can't find the rear view of this television. If there are connections on the back for AUDIO OUT there will be two connections for an RCA type connector. All you need to do is to get an adapter (from Radio Shack) and plug that into the two Audio Out connectors on the back of your television and plug your headphones into that adapter.
I recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/Male-3-5mm-Stereo-Female-Y-Cable/dp/B000I23TTE
If you have a 1/4 headphone connector (the old type) you can convert the 1/8 to 1/4 inch with this one. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=1%2F8+inch+male+to+1%2F4+inch+female&x=16&y=24
You have two way to connect your laptop to your T.V. using VGA or S-video, Check your T.V. for VGA (which is standered on all Laptops) and S-video which is on most T.V., but not standard on laptops.
You also will need RCA audio to earphone jacks to get audio out of your T.V.
After you connect your laptop to your T.V. press FN and F5.
