Yes, I have a solution ! I had this problem and tried all the dip switch settings mentioned in the manual. Eventually I just watched the heating cycle to see what was going on. It did all work properly, the heat came on, the water came on, the heat went off and the water went off when the air cooled off. But the fan continues to run until the furnace is completely cool. A little while after the fan stopped the humidifier water supply came on again and stayed on till the next cycle. Eventually I figured out what was happening was that residual heat from the furnace was drifting back through the supply duct and was warm enough to re-trigger the temperature switch that turns the water on. The solution is simple. Close down the control blade of the duct on the hot air side to about 50% Now there is less likelyhood of warm air drifting back and re-triggering the flow valve. I don't recall of any mention in the manual of how to set this blade control so I guess most people leave it wide open. Anyway, this worked for me.

I just fixed mine.
Remove the solenoid and coil from the unit. Disconnect the 24VAC electrical and plumbing etc.
remove the lock from the coil (black part). Its a "U" shaped clip device. This should allow the solenoid to come free. Remove the two screws from the base of the solenoid. Now the armature pin should come out.
Inspect the base (within the solenoid). It has a raised "nipple" where the rubber of the armature "seats" itself. In my case, it had disintegrated on one side, causing a bad seal when the armature was "closed".
Take a small grinder tool and very carefully, grind this (nipple within the solenoid base) so you have an even "face" for the rubber piece of the armature to "seat" against.
enjoy 1) not pouring water down the drain 2) teaching yourself a bit about solenoid valves etc 3) getting to play with your tools. 4) not spending $60+ for a new one of these things 5) experience in knowing how to disassemble/fix it the next time

While installing the Wait 5000 Humidifier, can you use the 24 volt transformer from the previous Humidifier or do you have to use the transformers provided with the Humidifier
