How do i set up a wifi conection from my wii to my modem please

Nintendo's wireless connection will only support WEP security. So before connecting it wirelessly, check your wireless router/wireless access point and make sure that IF it has a wireless security configured on it, it's on WEP. So the wireless security should either be Disabled or at WEP. You can check these options on the router's Web UI. If you have a Linksys router, I could help you with it.

follow these steps:

1. Setup Screen > tap "Nintendo Wi-Fi Settings".
2. Select a "Connection slot".
3. Tap "Search for an Access Point. (This will open a list of wireless networks detected.)
4. Select your network (or any network you want to connect to) and connect to it. It will ask your for the network key or WEP key if you have it setup on the router.

3) Click the advanced tab on top
4) Go to Internet connection sharing and check the box, click OK
5) On your xbox, Go to your network settings

You must have your PC on at all times to connect to Xbox live this way.

If this setup doesnt work.

3) Right click and bridge the connections
4) Same setup on Xbox as the previous instructions
5) Test Connection.

How do i set my ps3 up to get online

Take the ethernet only and attach it to your router. If you are not already using a router for your computer internet connection then if your router has connection software that needs installing for network setup for the router only you run the software on the computer after connecting the router to the PC.

If you use the oruter for your PC connection already then do the following.

  • Connect the Ethernet from the PS3 to the router0
  • On the ps3 Go to settings
  • Go to network settings
  • Go to network connection, select enable
  • Go to Internet connection settings just below internet connection-
  • Push yes when it says you may be disconnected
  • Select wired or wireless
  • For wireless use scan or enter manually
  • Follow on screen instructions.
Once that is set up return to main menu and go to network near the right.

Here is a video instruction:

How to setup xbox live

To set up the connection via a router unplug the router and the modem and turn off the 360. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the out ports of the preexisting router then connect the cord to the back of your 360. Plug everything back in and turn and give the modem and router about 3 minutes to reboot.

Once you have given everything a few minutes to reboot you can turn the 360 back on. If you have already set up a gamer profile you will see the Xbox Live screen. If you have not set up an account you will be prompted to do so. All you need to do is follow the on screen instructions. It is a pretty cut and dry process and should not take more than 10 minutes of your time.
If you want to go wireless or you must go wireless you will need to get the Xbox360 wireless network adapter. The adapters are available at most stores that sell 360 games or you can order it online. Once you have the adapter unplug any Ethernet cable you might have plugged into the 360 then clip the Network adapter to the back of the 360. It is really easy to see where it belongs, but just in case, the adapter will sit right alongside the USB port which is right above the Ethernet port. Once you have clipped it in plug the USB cable that is attached to the adapter into the port on the Xbox 360. Flip up the antenna that is laying flat against the adapter and you are set, well almost set.

Turn on the 360 and head into the System tray. You will see Network options, go ahead into that screen and follow it through to the "Edit Settings" subcategory. The Network name should appear on a list of available networks. Select your network and enter the password, if there is a password. Exit out and you should be ready to play.

MTU fail

ok well I found a fix but it may not be simple. anyway, i got my xbox360 to work off of my girlfriends laptop by feeding internet to the laptop from the cable modem via usb and then from the laptop to the xbox360 via ethernet. just right click usb connection in network connections and click sharing tab, then activate sharing and tell it to share connection with lan connection... you can also share through wireless if your xbox is wireless. I tried running all this through a dsl wireless router and a basic hub and both of them gave ip address and mtu errors... good luck

Finally the DNS problems I had with connecting my PS3 to my network has been resolved. I have LinkSys wireless router which is working perfectly for other devices (like laptop, Xbox360, TiVO). My wireless network is configured to NOT broadcast the SID and with a WEP key. After entering this manually in the network setup on my PS3, I was able to obtain an ip address from my router, I was able to open the configureation page on my router, but connecting to the internet would fail with some kind of DNS error. The way this was resolved for me (and I know someone else mentioned it in an other post here), was to enter the DNS server addresses manually in the PS3 network settings AND use tetertiary DNS server from my ISP as either the primary or the secondary DNS server. Voila... I am upgrading my PS3 software as I write this.... ..btw, this also fixed the similar problem I had with my PSP.. Thanks!

Network adapter

Please dont take offense to my questions, I just want to make sure everything is set up right for you.

Xbox does not have built in wireless capability, so first do you have the wireless adapter for xbox360 plugged in properly?

If you do not have the wireless adapter for xbox, even though you have a wireless router, you will still need to plug the normal ethernet cables in.

The only time your xbox will tell you that the network adapter is disconnected is if it is not plugged into the xbox, whether that is the wireless network adapter, or the cord.

I hope I helped to fix your problem.

Cant connect to xbox live through router

Hey stchivo, not entirely sure what's happening.  It might help to know what type of router you have.  I know the new linksys routers have a new security feature by the name of SES or something of the sort.  Make sure that is disabled and that DHCP is enabled.  Also make sure a firewall on the router isn't blocking it.  It might help to have screenshots of your router settings to better evaluate what's happening.
