Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
I got a brand new laptop a few days ago, i put it on a 24 hr charge before using it. The meter says 100% but within a matter of minutes the battery life becomes critically low, and it's as if the computer isn't recharing the batteries. What's the problem?
This sounds like the laptop is faulty if within minutes the laptop is totally drained of power from a so-called full charge.
Because the laptop is new then I recommend that you send or take the laptop back for repair or replacement as it's still covered by the manufacturers warranty.

Are you still running off AC Power when the battery becomes critically low? Put another way, is the laptop still plugged in to the electrical outlet?
If the meter goes from 100% to critically low in a matter of minutes, while running from battery power (not plugged into the wall), you need a new battery.
If the meter goes from 100% to critically low in a matter of minutes while you are running from AC power (plugged into the wall), you most likely need a new power adapter, as this would indicate that the battery is not charging in the first place. Note that this could be more labor intensive... You may find you need a replacement power jack for your laptop. :S
However, given your description, you need a new battery.
