Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Box continually pops up saying ''Assert in LSP'' with three choices: RETRY, ABORT, OR IGNORE. IGNORE OR ABORT gets rid of it, but sometimes you have to hit it as many as 6 times. Gateway computer.

Try this

1.Reset IE and check plugins ->Internet Explorer - Reset
2.Delete browsing history: Tools > Delete Browsing History > Delete All
3. Try reset winsock:

run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges and type

Assert in LSP original==reinterpret_cast (instance->org-startup-) Assertion failed capturelsp olspwsp_patches. cpp:202 How do I fixs this ?

An 'ASSERT' is a test, coded in some programming-languages,
e.g., the 'CPP' ("C-Plus-Plus") language, to say "if some-condition1 equals some-condition2 then continue to run this program", e.g., 'ASSERT X+Y = Z'.

If the logical-condition is false (e.g., X=1 and Y=2 and Z=99),
then you get an "assert-failure", and the program halts itself.

Now, why you get that condition, and what LSP (Layered Service Provider) has to due with apparently trying to install a security-patch downloaded from Microsoft, is another question.

Call Microsoft: 1-866-PC-SAFETY if you were installing a security-patch, and they, for free, will troubleshoot.

This happens. Recovery/reinstallations sometimes takes many attempts. Only, you have to clean the CDs. Clean them with a soft cloth in + signs and not circular as one would think, CDs being circular. So, clean then top to bottom and right to left and vice versa.

Assert in lsp g_socket_data.lookup

Sounds like a program error in internet explorer. Simplest way to fix this is use a new browser. Go to google and type "Download google chrome". Its safer, faster, and in the URL bar you can type any combination of words or letters and it automatically starts a google search- very handy if you ask me. Hope it works for you!

Do you have google desktop? If so you need to uninstall it and this should relieve the problem. You have a compatability issue.

M$ Internet Exploder 7 shuts down: Assert in LSP error popup

Your google desktop add-on is causing the problem. Try to start IE7 without add-ons. Right Click your IE7 Icon and start without add-ons, or go:

Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons)

Or type in this command at Start > Run

iexplore.exe -extoff

This will start IE7 without all the toolbars or add-ons that you can download or add to your Internet Explorer.

Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall the Google Toolbars/Desktop programs then try to start IE7 normally again.

Age of empires 3 wont download

May be that particular file is corrupt and this happens rarely. You said you are being given a ignore option. So keep pressing ignore untill all the corrupted files are skipped.Indeed this may effect the game play in any of the levels but something is better than nothing. Or else, if yours is a legitimate copy,Then you will have the manufacturers warranty, so you can replace it. Also try if its having the same problem when installing on to a different computer.
