I want to download ethernet controller hp compaq nx5000

Don't know what you mean by that. Your question is too vague. But to check your Ethernet card / controller do this:
Open up a Command Prompt
type the following at the prompt:
ping 127.0.0.1
If you get "Reply" messages, then that means that your ethernet card can send and receive packets (it's talking to itself via the default "loopback" IP Address and it should be working. If this is the case, then your ethernet controller is working. Check your cables, next.
If this does not work, then it is not working and unfortunately, if you have a laptop, then you may very well need a new motherboard. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

IF you somehow managed to install the LAN ETHERNET connection then there is a big chancethat there is good solution to your problem.

that is the link of the drivers that you should be able to install in your system. but since you dont have your ethernet driver installed yet. most likely you need to download all those drivers in a seperate PC then transfer those downloaded files from that pc to your nx5000 and it should be easy to install by then.

I am testing as we speak but already had the drivers on my comp and think i ran into problems the first time i tried - i assume its my comp.
