Try to print clean page , Print a cleaning page
During the printing process, paper, toner,
and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer and can cause print
quality issues such as toner specks or spatter, smears, streaks, lines
or repeating marks.
Follow these steps to clean the printer's paper path.
Load copier-grade paper (not bond, heavy, or rough paper).
On the printer's control panel, touch the Menu
button.
Touch Configure Device
.
Touch Print Quality
.
Touch Process Cleaning Page
.
A Cleaning
message appears on the printer control panel display while the cleaning
is taking place. The cleaning process takes a few minutes to complete.
Do not turn the printer off until the cleaning process has finished.
A page will be printed when the task is complete. Discard the page.
You might need to repeat the cleaning
process to thoroughly clean the printer. Print a few more pages to see
if the problem is resolved.
The exit mirror of the laser-scanner unit is dirty. There is a gap above the toner cartrigdge, where the laser beam is comming from. Try to clean with dry soft lint-free cloth.
You didn't say that you swapped out the toner. Let's come back to that point later.
Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print something. As soon as the paper feeds halfway into the printer, open the top cover. Pull out the toner, look down at the paper. Is it mostly black? If the answer is yes....replace the toner. Vacuum out the inside of the printer and print again. I think you have a bad toner cartridge
Does the black page come out first, and then your original print comes out fine ? If yes, you might try to update/replace your driver. Print from several applications and see if there some differense. It might be a software-error.
Or does the black page come instead of your original print ? If yes, try to replace your toner-cartridge. If the problem remains, there's some error in your High Voltage Power Supply and you might as well buy a new machine.
let me know how that looks. if that looks fine you have a static build up on the scanning glass.
if thats the case. lift the front pannel you will see 2 green plastic arms, pinch those towards each other and lift it wont come completly out, " if you see the toner cartridge you've gone to far" ... tilt the white plastic and wipe down the glass under neith this should fix your problem
You just might have a faulty black toner cartridge think back did the problem arise when you installed the new black cartridge. Also is the toner a original if not change for a original.
The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.
We had the same problem with our SCX but we replaced the Part #: SCX-4521D3 toner/drum and it worked fine after that. We replaced the starter cartridge with a 3000 print capacity cartridge.
Hi ,
