Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet
I have a TSSTcorp CDRW/DVD TSL 462C on my toshiba satellite pro (XP) and it plays some dvds but not others which is rather frustrating. have tried uninstalling from devce manager but no improvements. it tries to read them (makes noise, lights etc.) but nothing is recognised and when you try to access it from my computer it says something about being corrupted or using a format not compatible, please help.
The optical unit reads the disk, no problem with it apparently. This is easy to test - just put the disk in and open My Comp, in there just open the disk and if it's read the actual files will appear.
Your problem is caused by the fact that the files on your disks are in a format your Media Player is incapable of playing. So just get a better one, the best being VLC.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
