How to take out an ink cartridge before empty. Epson C48 inkjet

  • Anonymous Aug 18, 2008

We attempted to print postage and got a page of solid black ink. Message on printer says No Printer Cartridge. We turned the printer on and off and rebooted the computers but it still will not let us print anything. Rain today, might have had lightening during the night but we have a surge protector.

Hello ,

Start by opening your ink cover and read the LCD screen; this will alert you as to which ink cartridge is not being recognized; make sure the cartridge that it is telling you is empty has been changed.

If the unit is still not recognizing the cartridge you have changed, follow the steps below.

  1. Unplug the power cord for the printer unit.
  2. Open the ink cartridge cover and remove all ink cartridges.
  3. Close the ink cartridge cover.
  4. Plug the power cord back in.
  5. Reinstall the ink cartridges.

Thank you,

Pat

I have a i960 photo printer and have recently got a message after changing an ink cartridge that the ink head isn't installed or not installed correctly. I tried yet another new cartridge but I still can't...

you need a new printhead, QY6-0043-000. When they go bad it says cart. not installed, the cart. they are talking about is the printhead and not the inks.

Epson 4800 won't initialize after changing black cartridge

Did you change from matte black to photo black? Or vice versa? If so you have to use the ink conversion kit that came with your printer and draw out the old ink and install the new black in cartridge. Try page 113 in your owners manual. I am having a similar problem but with the light cyan and it says "set ink cartridge".

I HAVE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPENING THE CARTRIDGE COVER ON MY EPSON rx595 PRINTER AND CHANGING THE CARTRIDGES.

Make sure you have a new ink cartridge before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones.
Follow the steps below to replace one or more ink cartridges that are expended:
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. If a cartridge is low or expended, you see a message on the display screen. Note which cartridges need to be replaced and press OK.
  3. Open the scanner, then open the cartridge cover.
  4. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift it up. Dispose of it carefully. Do not take the used cartridge apart or try to refill it.
  5. Remove the cartridge from the package, but be careful not to touch the green chip on the edge.
  6. Remove the yellow tape from the bottom of the ink cartridge.

Caution: Do not remove any other labels or seals, or ink will leak.

  7. Insert the new ink cartridge into the holder and push it down until it clicks into place.
  8. Once you replace all the cartridges that need replacing, close the cartridge cover and push it down until it clicks into place.
  9. Close the scanner.
  10. Press OK to begin charging the ink. This takes about 2 minutes. When you see a completion message on the display screen, ink charging is finished.
Caution: To conserve ink, never turn off the printer while ink is charging. If you see an ink replacement message on the display screen, press OK and press down all the cartridges securely

Brother mfc 240c does not recognise new cartridges have been installed and gives message that no black cartridge and colors are near empty, new genuine cartridges have been installed.

this is what i did as a last resort after messing with this stupid printer all day and changing cartridges and getting a no cartridge message.
i took all of the ink cartridges out and took a pair of pliers and pulled out what i think must be the sensors. they are black plastic pieces toward the top part of the ink area. then i put the cartridges back in and i have been printing ever since. this was my last resort before i was prepared to throw in the towel so that was why i went at it with the pliers!

Printing

Phisically unplug the printer and wait a minute. Plug it back in with the new cartridge installed while the printer is off.
