Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

Light mode on console itself

NINTENDO WII-----I was messing around with settings and now my nintendo wii no longer rests in stand by mode (function light on console dark green) once I power it off regardless if I hold the power button for 8 seconds, the light automatically goes to red, which isn't allowing my remotes to charge via the usb port in back. For the life of me I cannot find this option under the wii settings button. Please help! thank you

You do have rechargeable remotes right? And the light only goes to red if you are not connected to the internet or were connected but unplugged it. i use a store bought charger that came with a rechargeable battery panel that plugs into the remote. so if i take the battery cover off the batteries are attached to it. but that is just me i don't know about you. hope i helped. If i didn't, post a new problem that tells the steps that you take to try to charge them.

Nintendo WII

Wires that do not come with the Wii fail. Always use the one that comes with the Wii.

My wii wont even power on does that have anything to do with the battery in the console

No. The battery on the inside's only function is to remember the time and date on the Wii.

If you have no power at all, no red light, no green light, the most likely problem is that you AC Adapter is no longer functional. You can find a new AC adapter for around $19 including shipping at the following website:

I accidentally set my wii to HDTV settings and I need to reset it back to normal tv but my screen is so messed up I cant see options or anything

You can reset your Nintendo Wii video settings to use Composite (or RCA - Yellow, Red and White) cables by doing the following:

1. Make sure the Nintendo Wii is powered off and a red light is showing.

2. With the power off, unplug the video cables from the back of the Nintendo Wii, leave them plugged into your TV (these should be the RCA/Composite cables)

3. Press the Power button on the front of Nintendo Wii. Make sure the cables are still unplugged.

4. Keep the Nintendo Wii powered on and plug your cables back into it with it still running.

5. If all went well, the picture should appear normally now.

6. Once the picture has reappeared, you should go into the Nintendo Wii Menu (the Wii button in the bottom left hand corner) and change the display back to 480i to make the changes permanent.

My wii will not **** the game in can you help.

Step 1: Turn it on. Simple but often overlooked. The light needs to be green if it will function.
Step 2: Is the game the correct way up? If your Wii is standing up, The print on the front of the disc should be facing to the left.
Step 3: Check the troubleshooting pages in the manual or on the Wii help website (Nintendo help).
If you can't get anything to work you may just have to trade in the Wii for a new one.

My wii is displaying only in black and white

Try using any unused sockets on your TV, or you could mess around with your FUNCTION and AV buttons on your remote until you get colour.
also, check all the wires are in properly and your TV display settings has the colour set to atleast 50.
Hope this helped.

My nintendo wii power light is yellow

The wii power light is yellow because you have wiiconnect24 turned on in the wii system options. Wiiconnect24 constantly keeps your wii connected to the internet by staying in a low power mode, if you receive any messages while int his mode the disk opening will flash blue. If you don't want this option just go into the wii systems settings and turn it off. If you wish to have it but want to turn it fully off just hold the power button on the main console until the power light turns red.
