Most residential units do not have a manual reset. There may well be a fault counter on the system circuit board. Assuming that you've replaced the filter, turn off all power to the unit for 30 seconds then re power and give it a try. If that doesn't work, drop me a note and we'll check a couple other things.

Cooling was not work

Could be a dirty filter causing lack of airflow, High pressure switch tripped, compressor failure, refrigerant loss. You'll need to open the unit and tun it on and see if you are getting power to your compressor with a meter. If you are and it is not working, your compressor has failed. If your not, you'll need to look at the wiring diagram and follow the line that powers your compressor and check the safety's that control it to see which one is open.

Where is the reset button on my ruud acheiver 90 airconditioner?

Should be a small button on the outside unit close to where the tubing is welded on the unit. This is a high pressure switch that trips if the unit gets hot , so be sure and check the coil for dirt , etc. The fan pulls air through the coil. If the outside of the coil is dirty it will trip the high pressure switch. Look under the fins, you will see the outside of the coil.

Outside unit will not run. Its happened before and I pushed the high pressure switch and it came on. Now that doesnt work

Usually when the high pressure switch trips its because the outdoor coil is dirty or the outdoor fan isn't running or not at full speed.
A lot of times when it cycles on high pressure the compressor gets hot and trips the thermal overload in the compressor and depending on the outside temperature can take several hours to come back on.

My heil heat pump has been tripping circuit breakers. It might run 8 hours to two days before it trips. I replaced the breaker. They put a hard start on the compressor. Now they say the next step is the...

Have you noticed what the outdoor temperature is when this unit is tripping the breaker? Does it seem to be at a higher outdoor temperature or at all outdoor temperatures day and night?
Did they check the run capacitor to see if it's good and the proper microfarads?
Did they check to see if the breaker trips when it's starting up or after it has been running awhile.
If it's tripping on start up then it's possible the next step is the compressor replacement.
If it's tripping after running awhile then it could be dirty indoor coil or filters, blower not running at full speed, low voltage, loose wire connection, points burnt on contactor and even a weak run capacitor.

Freezer is warm, not freezing at all, fans run

If the fans your talking about are in the refrigeration section, then the unit is not in defrost. The interior fans shut off during the defrost cycle.
There is a condenser fan motor in the machine section by the compressor. If it fails, the problem you described can occur.
If that fan motor is still, and the compressor is cool to the touch, then no power is getting to the refrigeration section.
Could be a bad thermostat, or the unit has tripped off on the high pressure safety switch. The high pressure switch can be one of 2 styles. Auto reset, which means it will try to restart the compressor when the pressures become normal. The other has a lock out feature that requires it be reset manually. If it goes out on the high pressure switch, once reset, check the condenser fan motor to make sure it is running and/or excessive dirt in the condenser, which must be blown out.
Other causes can be a total loss of refrigerant, or a compressor that won't run.
Short of a broken wire all items listed except for a dirty condensor and reset of the high pressure switch, require a decent knowledge of electrical, Knowledge in the use of a VOM meter and amp-probe, as well as a set of refrigeration gauges.

Poetable AC compressor licks in for 10 min

It is probably either the high pressure switch or the frost control. The high temp switch usually trips because the condenser coil is dirty which does not allow it to exhaust heat very well. The frost control will trip if the system gets below 39 degrees on the pipes. This is usually do to low refrigerant or dirty filters. Good Luck!

Unit will not cool. We have owned the unit for about 2 years. Use with sparingly. Does the refrigerate need to be replaced? If so, how do we get it done? Mr. Marks

First off you need to check the filters inside of the home, if they are dirty replace them. I would also check the condenser outside and see if it has a high pressure reset, this is usually on the smaller of the two copper lines coming from the compressor. It will look like a small valve with a button on the top or it will be in a gray case with a small metal stem that may be pushed in to reset. If the high pressure switch has been tripped most likley the condenser is dirty and it will need cleaned. To do this turn off the disconnect to the condenser, take the case apart to gain access using a garden hose rinse from the inside out thourghly.
