Did you check the heater? run your multimeter on both sides unplug both connections and do a continuity test on the heater itself if your heater is fine and youve checked the relays the next thing to look at would be the wiring going to the timer as well as the timer you could have a single wire that is loosely conneted to your timer that could also be why your not getting heat hope this helps

Check your warranty if valid insure it then pay some one to steal it and sell it, then..... just buy a new one they will make more off of you because you want it to work, they depend on these (fail)safes to keep their stocks up

My maytag neptune dryer doesn't blow any hot air

on top of the heating element on the left side there is a white 2connector part, that is the heater thermal fuse. disconnect the dryer power cord and one wire of the thermal fuse and use a meter to find out if you have continuity to it. if not replace it. also check for burn wires at heating element. also test heating element by disconnecting one wire and using an ohm meter test it at 2 therminals. it shoul measure 10-12 ohms.

Dryer won't heat maytag neptune mde 5500 ayw

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

Electric Dryer---

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.

2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.

3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.

4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.

Hope this helps...

The heating element went out and the machines are not old enough for that, I wouldn't think but it isn't heating up or drying.

Before replacing the heating element, I would check the sensors that are attached to the heating chamber. They can be disk shaped with two wires connected to it. Also there may be a thermal fuse in that same area with two wires connected. Check those parts with a continuity tester or ohm meter after the wires have been disconnected and with the dryer unplugged. The thermal fuse runs about $20.00 dollars or so depending on the model.

My dryer works but has no heat whats could be wrong

hello there
:please go through each of these steps that i have provided belw
investigate these five areas if your dryer is not heating up:

Proper Voltage

If your dryer won't heat up, it's possible that it is not being supplied with the proper voltage. Here are three ways to make sure power is getting to your dryer: First, make sure your dryer is plugged in. Next, check the circuit breaker panel to make sure all the circuit breakers are in the correct positions. Finally, check to make sure no fuses in your fuse panel are blown. Any of these could explain why power is not getting to your dryer.

Heating Element

It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating element is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours has ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.
07fcef1.jpg Thermal Fuse

Another possible cause for a dryer not heating up could be attributed to a faulty thermal fuse. Once a dryer's thermal fuse has blown, it is no longer of any use. If your dryer's fuse is blown, you will have to replace it. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal fuse so that you can test it.
f9921fb.jpg Thermostat

If any of your dryer's thermostats have become defective, they could be the reason that your dryer is not heating. Open up your dryer's cabinet and test each of your dryer's thermostats. If any are faulty, replace them.

A defective timer motor could also cause your dryer to not heat up. Test your dryer's timer motor. If it is no longer functioning as it should, replace either the entire motor assembly, or just its motor.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Things that could stop an electric dryer from heating: - house fuse or breaker (needs two of them), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse (not all models), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

The dryer doesn't have hot air

First, make sure that there is no ventilation issue and that the vent is clean and clear. If the dryer isn't heating, check for a blown thermal fuse or a faulty heating element. Both components can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty component. Both components are located in the rear of the dryer. The thermal fuse is about an inch long and is usually attached to or near the exhaust duct. Remember to disconnect the dryer from the power source before attempting any repair.Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.
