Question about HP Business Inkjet 1000 - Printer - colour - ink-jet - Legal - 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi - up to 23 ppm (m...
I am installing a new HP BIJ 1000. I followed the startup and installation instructions carefully, but when I turn it on, the power and resume lights blink. Troubleshooting says to look for paper jams, but it doesn't even try to pick up the paper. The printhead cartridge moves around and a cassette of some sort moves between the ink crtridges and the printheads. I've checked the installation of the cartridges and printheads, made sure all packing tapes were removed, paper is loaded properly, etc. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

This is a common issue and most times a bear to repair. There is a
sensor flag mounted on the paper feed assembly behind tray 1 which has
a habit of either coming off or the spring which moves it back a forth
comes out of its holder. In any case it is one of the worst repairs you
have to do. Many items have to come off to get to it and getting that
flag and spring on correctly even with the instructions is difficult.
Usually what will happen is you get the 13.20.00 error on power up with
no motor movement and when you open and close the top cover, the motor
will move but the same error reappears. If you are lucky it is just a
case of a shred of paper blocking the sensor flag from moving and worst
case of the flag having come off. You will need the service manual and
check the removal and replacment section on the paper feed assembly and
play close attention to the 3rd page.
sometimes this error also appears if a wrong fuser is installed in ur printer that is not ur model number.... have it checked
thank you have a nice day

Tips for a great answer:
In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken.
