When we attempt to print it leaves black streak marks. At first it printed all black and when we went to setup under maintainence we chose alignment and clean cartridges. This worked however we still see...

If an inkjet printer gives white streaks where it should be black, it means the ink is very low, or there is dirt under the nozzles preventing it from printing properly, or, in the case of non original cartridges, ink might be leaking which prevents the bubbles of ink to squirt onto the page.

If the streaks are black where it should be white, is sounds like some dust or fluff below the cartridge leaves ink smears on the page.

Printed pages are smeared with black

Sounds like a bad toner, or possibly the scanner is dirty. If you look where it pulls the paper through it can have a small speck, but since its on the scanner tself it will put black lines all the way down the paper.
If its larger and smeared the Toner itself is probably bad and you need a new Toner Kit, should come with new rollers and a new cartridge as well.

Getting black streaks across documents and pictures

Usual cause is defective bllack cartridge or it needs to be removed and excess ink cleaned from the face of it.

SOMETIMES using too heavy of paper can bend up an touch the bottom of the cartridges as tehy move across to page.

Also a paper jam can brush the cartridge and after that the ink is smeared on the cratridge face and will mark the paper as it moves across.

Using BAD refilled cartridges is a common problem.

Brother MFC9600 dirty printing

We were having a lot of print quality problems, similar to what you describe. We replaced the drum and it worked fine.

Smeared lines

Okay, this was the problem I posted a few days ago. It's fixed now, so in case you have the same problem with smearing, here's what the help desk from Canon suggested: Open the cover and remove the ink cartridges. There is a gray lever in front of the cartridges. Lift this lever and the printhead can be easily removed.
Our printhead had a buildup of black ink on the surface. I carefully removed this with rubbing alcohol. I let the printhead dry and replaced everything. No more smearing. Imagine a help-desk that actually helped!

Prints roller smear marks

Laser printers do not use Ink. The problem is most likely a defect on the drum, which in this model printer, is part of the toner cartridge. Replace the black toner cartridge with a known good one and test.

Black smear of ink at end of lines

Please load the printer with at least 10 sheets of plain paper then press the start button. This will dry or clean any ink found on the rollers.
Continue to run blank pages through the printer until no more ink is found on the paper, then attempt printing. If ink stains, streaks or smudges are still present, the printer may need service.

Lines

I will give you all the reasons I can think of.
1, If the line is only there when running through a document feeder and not there off the glass. The small strip of glass directly under the document feeder is dirty.
2. The drum has a scratch on it, or the cleaning blade is not cleaning the drum properly. Would require that cartridge replacement.
3. The fuser roller may be work in the middle. You would notice some reprinting , or ghost copying if that were bad.
4. Less likely would be some piece of fuzz in the light path, or a small piece of paper or tape in the paper path smearing the ink across the page.
If your machine prints, see if the line is on a print, if its on a print and not on the copy then it is scanner related.
