Quad core? also bought a 2 gig memeory stick last week come to find out it's PC2-5300 (333) MHz the other 3 2 gig sticks are ddr 2 as wel but pc2-6400 400(mhz) is the slower new memory I Just installed Dummying down the other memory already on board, thats what my roomate said but he's a bit of a know it all.
Yes you can upgrade to a quad, as long as its an LGA 775 socket processor, and yes the slower memory will bog down your others, you motherboard will operate the ram at the slowest speeds set in the memory bank
