If the older program is within you must uninstall and then try out. Use the cd that came along with your printer to install into the computer, then you must connect the printer which must detect it. if not there could be a fault in your port. Open device manager and select the port driver to be refreshed. then try again. If not you will need to reinstall your motherboard drivers once again, hoping your OS is not infected, but try to do a virus/malware test, delete all temp files, cookies and defragment the drives. hope this solves.
