Above is a VCR Training manual, this is what is used to teach the Engineers how to troubleshoot and repair these types of units.

Usually in these units, it is either the Power Supply is faulty, or, Check the Mode Switch, these are common causes of NO GO. One MUST ALWAYS start at the PSU, as if the Voltages are NOT correct there nothing else can be.

Why does my fuses for my interior lights and my radio and my eletric mirrors blow out

you have a short on the unswitched B positive supply line, could be problem with anything on that supply or a wiring problem. disconnect all the items on that circuit to isolate the cause and replace fuse, if the fuse stays intact reconnect one at time untill fuse fails. that then is the faulty component,if the fuse fails with all disconnected you need to get a wiring diagram and trace the relevant wiring from the fuse that blows and check its integrity, hope this helps. ps you dont say what vehicle this is but the rules above apply to all, but certain vehicles have known issues. cheers.

1987 F-350 1 Ton Dump; after breaking a RR turn/brake light housing by backing into a firewood pile while delivering firewood, I have lost front & rear brake & turn signals. My ohm meter indicates...

The fuse #5 next to the flasher should be for the turn signals. Fuse number 1 is for the stop and hazard circuit. Everything goes thru the turn signal switch so the short could be in there. You would need to unplug the turn signal switch to check the circuits with an ohm meter.
The brake and signal circuits are separate until they get to the turn signal switch.

2009 rocker brake lights dont work , fuses good running and turn indicators o.k. any suggestions

Hi Anonymous, this problem is usually cause by the front brake light switch being out of alignment or the button not retracting all the way keeping your brake light on in a closed circuit, depending on your model year. 1996 and earlier models the right handlebar switch housing had to be tight up against the front brake control housing in order for the front brake light switch button to be fully compressed to stop continuity. In 1997 and later models the button was alot shorter and was more of an alignment issue in the switch housing. Rear brake light switches located in the rear brake line TEE can also fail in the closed circuit condition but extremely rare, usually they fail in an open circuit condition where the brake light is not able to activate. No picture

If the unit powers at all and you hear some thing from the VCR, and then the unit powers off--problem is in the VCR.

If total dead a fuse is of course possible--If none of these then the TV has a problem in either the High Voltage circuit or the power supply.

To repair or to replace?

For fuses remove seat and directly behind the battery is a black plastic box. The cover slides up and off revealing the starter relay and the system/fuel pump relay for you injected folks and the various assorted circuit fuses. I only see one solid horizontal line on my tv

It lost Vertical sweep either due to open fuse resistor feed the Vertical output circuits, failed vertical/oscillator IC, failed Vertical york (on the neck of the picture tube). Those are what you need to check. This is CRT TV, the repair shop will charge at lest $35 to tell you what I just indicate, to repair it iwll more likely to be in $100 range.
Please leave rating if it helps.

Panasonic dmr es30v

Without seeing the actual unit, I would guess that the power supply has failed. These unit have what are called "switch mode" supplies that rely on circuits that oscillate. If a capacitor goes bad, the unit won't oscillate properly, thus no power. These are difficult to track, but are not usually expensive to repair. I would suggest a trip to a service center for a detailed repair estimate. Report the results here.

Fuses blow afer power surge

These are switch mode power supplies and very difficult to repair. If you don't find all the blown components, they just blow up again when you try it. If that model has a separate module for the supply, you can try and order a replacement, but they usually are too expensive.
What model is it? Maybe I have a junker I can take the supply from for you?

Toshiba tz50v51 popping sound

Possible problems: * The TV set may be unplugged. * A fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or switched off. * The remote control unit (RCU) may be disabled. Solutions: * Make sure the TV/VCR are plugged in and the wall switch is on. * Check the fuse or circuit breaker. Test the outlet with a lamp. * Replace the RCU's batteries: if this fails exchange the unit.
