Re: My westinghouse 905 dishwasher starts ok but stops...
Hi. I have a Westinghouse 905. At first all ok then we found that it cuts out and short cicuits the whole house. Trips the electricity switch. Restart gets to about half way through then same thing happens. Any help please?
Tks
Yeah, mine does the same. Starts ok, sometimes it washes fine and other times it stops during the wash cycle.
If it is shorting out the house, get it fixed or replaced professionally. The wires that go from the base of the dishwasher and up into the door carry MAINS voltages. Where the door hinges (to open) the wires eventually get fatigued and break. They can sometimes short against the steel front door.
If it is stopping and not causing any other issues, it's probably a dry joint (bad soldering) on one of the connectors on the control board, or the power relay is bad.
If the dishwasher is old, I'd be betting the relay has bad contacts.
