Question about Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Replace bearing in Fisher Paykel DEGX1

I need a diagram (exploded view) of the drum bearing on the above dryer. I have taken it out due to squecking noise and parts feel out every where and I can't get them back in right.

No matter which cycle I select, why does it go to cool down and continues to beep non-stop?

Clean the vent screen and the vent pipe, apparently the dryer cannot cool down properly because the vent is plugged.

The dryer squeeks when the drying. I have turned the drum manually, and I don't hear the noise, it's only when it is turned on and turning that way.

the belt tensioner pulley has a roller with a bearing in it causing this squeak. greasing the bearing may help or a replacement will work even better

Wont start. Extra dry light on and cool down light on.

Fault #3 Drum Stalled; unable to move.
  1. Check drum movement mechanisms: belt, motor and motor harness (if motor moves drum slightly, treat as fault #2)
  2. Replace the motor control module.
  3. Replace the motor.

Fault #2 Drum Gap Cannot be Located
  1. Ensure sensor module is correctly located and clipped in.
  2. Replace the lens on the sensor module.
  3. Replace the sensor module.
  4. Remove Top Deck and clean the sensing bumps on the outside of the drum end.
  5. Replace the drum.

Fisher and paykel dryer works but very noisy

If the noise is like a shaking of rattling , like coins being shaked , then it is an object trapped inside the drum.

If instead the noise is a loud grinding , that may get louder on high speed, then it is usually a bad drum bearing.

If dryer is not cooling, check that the noise is not coming from the ventilation fan.

Rollers and belt tensioner can also make noise.

Vibration issue - DEGX1

you need a new bearing. if you lift the lid is going to be on the right side in the middle. and its not fun to replace so i would have a factory authorized company come out and do it. if you try to do it you might damage your drum and have to replace it as well. have fun. call f&p and they might cover the parts cost for you
