Case logic keyboard, no soft ware with key board,

u most likely got US layout printed on your keyboard and UK keyboard set in your operating system (OS). U have to change the language/keyboard layout to EN (US) if u want the keyboard to work as it shows. Might be that u have to install this language from your widows CD as if u not choose more languages when installing OS, it will only install the one that is predefined. U can find this setting in control panel >>>regional and language options>> languages>> input language>> click on details and it will show u all options available. On top is default input language, under that is window with all languages u can chose, if there is EN (US), cool, if not u have to add a language. when EN (US) will show in that window jobs almost done. If u will find any other services that u don't need (CZ, PL,FR etc.) remove them! Than u have to chose if u want to change the default layout. If u want to have everything as keyb. shows since OS starts u have to change default to EN (US). And that's all.. Option 2 is that u will keep EN (UK) as def and US as "spare input" and only by pressing hotkey alt+shift easily change the temporally layout whenever u want. just when u decide for option 2 ensure that OS will show language bar on taskbar.U can set this by clicking on right mouse button in taskbar area chose toolbars and thick language bar. U will see always EN as the mark for input they are the same for us and uk, but by clicking on it it will show u details quick and easy.. Or there is also a option 3.. u can just find @ under ". They are just swap over and u don't have to change anything. but I'm sure if u take option 3 that u will find more things that u will not be to able to find on US keyb. with UK input on OS.

How can i change keyboard confiuration from us to uk on a acer aspire one many thanks

from your start menu go to settings/control panel then go to the regional and language tab. make sure you set all the options in there to the uk, on the second tab (languages) go on details and add uk keyboard there, remove the us 1 and apply. it will tell you you need to reset for it to take effect.

hope it helps

Settings are for Us keyboard but want to change to Uk

ok my friend lets follow this path and do the changes.

click on start
click on control panel
click on regional languages and options
you will have a new window and on top u have two tabs
click on the second tab (languages).
click on details button (on the right side).
a new window will pop up with two option (settings and advanced).
keep it on settings.
click on add and there will be another window, now select the english (UK).
now click ok and it will add the language.
now before doing anything click the first language (US) highlight it and click remove so you will have (UK) only in there.
now hit ok and ok again

I have a Sony VGN-NR430D laptop.I just got it. I cannotfigure out this keyboard. I get aÉ for a qustion mark I get aÈ for another one. I just canèt figure out how to use it and canèt...

I'm assuming it's a standard british keyboard

Click Start
Control Panel
Regional and Language Options
Languages
Details

If UK or UK Extended isn't selected click Add
Select your language and keyboard layout from the list
Click OK
Your keyboard should now show up in the box
Click the non-UK Keyboard setting
Click Remove
Click Apply then OK

Settings may not change until you restart.

If your keyboard isn't the standard UK layout, check your manual or the Sony website to find out which it is.
