How to change setting for letters

I'll thing you'll find the keyboard letters are in the right place :-)

But being serious, you need to change the "regional setting" for the keyboard. If you go into the control panal and select the keyboard settings, you should change it to what you want (I assume UK)

Best of luck

Keyboard key type" instead of

Hello, it's not a problem with your keyboard, it's a settings problem with Windows. You need to go into Control Panel settings, find the Keyboard section, and you'll probably find an Advanced tab. (Depends on your Windows version) Anyway, you need to change your Country type from whatever it's set to (probably US) to UK. From memory, you have to ADD the UK keyboard, and DELETE the US one. You'll then have to reboot to make changes. Hope this helps! nicam49

The @ and " are reversed and i cannot get the UK pound sign

You need to change your keyboard default from USA to UK.
Your settings are in Control panel / region and language / look for the keyboard settings here.
If UK is not listed, click on add, choose UK and then make it default

My laptop is new @ a key was pushed now the keys type a #

I agree with cra1901. An alternative way of changing the layout is: right clicking on your taskbar and select "language bar". When this is done, right click on the keyboard symbol and select "settings". Change the default language (to UK) and your keyboard should type correctly.

Your keyboard is set in the USAconfiguration ( blame the preson who installed the system). Go into the control panel select regional and language settings. On the first tab select UK from the drop down menu. On the second tab (languages) select details and again select UK from drop down menu. Then if necessary select UK keyboard in box below.

If UK or UK Extended isn't selected click Add
Select your language and keyboard layout from the list

Your keyboard should now show up in the box

If your keyboard isn't the standard UK layout, check your manual or the Sony website to find out which it is.

Sony Vaio PCG K115M keyboard problem

Hi, its easy to fix. you have your keyboard layout set to US Layout, ie americans have a couple of keys in reverse from ours. All you have to do is this Windows XP Start, Control Panel, regional & language settings, change all US Settings, in there to UK British, And it will fix your problems :-) if its windows 98/ME ETC start, control panel, Keyboard, and change the US Keyboard setting to UK British, u usually have to set it twice, ie select uk, apply it, then do it again before it changes... If you dont get it sorted will guide u though it just email me.. All the best John [email protected]
