Hi, i brought my unit at 2008. During this 2 years i used my unit a lot and for that reason i have lost my serial number (scratch). Is there any option that i can update my unit with new maps of Canada without serial number? I just bought the usb cable.

Unfortunately, the model or serial number doesn't show in your question. I see this all the time, I guess it doesn't show all of your information sometimes. So for your first question, you will need the serial number if you don't have a manufacturing date on your data plate somewhere on the unit. In the serial number, it's usually the first 3-4 digits after the letters. Example C1085???. These digits in order will give you the month it was made and the year it was made, so in my example it would be made in October, 1985. It's really hard to tell without a serial number posted though. For your second question, any unit made before 1992 will have around a 10 seer rating or less and some there after. In the most recent few years, you won't get anything less than a 13 seer unit, which is about 30% savings in cost to run the unit and a lot less energy consumption. You can now get up in the 20's with seer ratings which save a ton of money but cost a lot too! Hope this helps and if you still can't figure out the year for your older unit, try posting the serial number in the question itself. Good luck!

Good luck mate numbers are usually scratched off for a reason. I would get your money back before you are charged with receiving stolen goods. be careful when buying used items, always have a police check done before you purchase them especially motor vehicles.

Your manual says for each gallon of premium fuel add 2½ ounces of premium 2 cycle oil. 30 minutes spent in front of the TV while reading your manual is time well spent.
Fuel/Oil Mixture

1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 8oz/2gal - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (Stihl 2.6oz/1gal)
2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few months. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine. HTH

Radio security codes from the factory are always included with the owner's manual. Many new car buyers remove the "code cards" and/or owner's manuals for whatever reason, and are lost forever. The only alternative is to contact a Honda dealer and provide VIN number and possibly the serial number from the radio itself (located on the bottom of the unit).

It is possible to tell the year (and the month) when the SL-1200 was manufactured from the serial number on the back or bottom of the turntable. SL-1200 serial numbers are in two different formats, depending on the date of manufacture. It isn't exactly possible to determine the decade in which the SL-1200 in question was manufactured, as the serial number contains only the last digit of the year. If the year digit is 8, the turntable may have been manufactured in 1978, 1988 or 1998. If the year digit is 0, the turntable may have been manufactured in 1980, 1990 or 2000. One rule of thumb is that old-format serial numbers belong to SL-1200s manufactured during the 1970s and 1980s, while new-format serial numbers belong to SL-1200s manufactured during the 1990s and beyond.
