Connectivity issues can be many.

I would start my first rebooting the main modem.
Once that is up, reboot the wireless router.
Once that is uo, reboot the laptop.
Try to connect.

If that does not work, eliminate the wireless router and connect the laptop directly to the modem via Ethernet cable and reboot the computer again and see if it works. If it does, then it is something with the wireless router. If it doesn't, i would contact the provider so they can verify that they can see your modem on their network. If they cannot, they will advise you further (hardware/cabling issue). This is all assuming that nothing has been changed on any settings of the laptop, router or modem.

I bought this router 2 days ago. I pluged in the phone socket (with micro filter), and into mains,it worked perfectly on my daughters' (each daughter has a laptop - all work)laptops, and one of my desktop...

1) Make sure there is no low-pass filter from the phone line to the wall - it should be directly connected.

2) The laptop issue has nothing to do with the wireless router if it's actually connected. Try pinging the router. Open the command prompt. type ipconfig. Look at the laptop's IP address and the gateway. Try pinging the gateway (ie ping 192.168.1.1). If the ping works, the connection is fine.

3) Can you open a browser window but not connect to a web page? This is due to a connectivity issue. If you can't even open a web page for whatever reason, its a problem with the laptop, not the connection. Hope this helps.

HP pavilion laptop dv2120us wireless nic intermittent failure

I think you have a suspect hard drive on your laptop. It is slowly failing. Hopefully you have got the Recovery CD/DVD for it. Not sure what OS you are running. I suppose it will be Vista. You can download disk test utility Seatools from Seagate website and it will give you an indication of the state of your drive. I think this model of HP laptop used a very cheap generic brand disk drive. Best to replace with Seagate or WD of same capacity as your present one. It will be hard to get data back if you do not have backups. Hope this helps.

Laptop Cannot Find Home Wireless Network

Try logging into the router with your desktop hard-wired and find the 25-digit passcode and use that to log on to the wireless network with the laptop. If not, then check if connection is good by hard-wiring the router to the laptop. Let me know what happens or if you have solved the problem.

Wireless Router Randomly Disconnects

I am having this problem as well, however my connection goes from 56M down to 1M and I cant connect to anything. I previously thought it was my router but none of my other systems experience it. If you know someone with an external Wireless card I'd suggest trying that before purchasing one. I dont believe anyone can fix an internal wireless card that goes bad. Try downloading the latest drivers for your PC/LAPTOP's wireless device and reload it.
