Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My creative speakers ...model no SBS 260. Not recognised on computer.

Sorry to bother you, I bought a vista home edition computer...HP Pavillion. After a few weeks i realised it was ribbish. I then put my xp back on it after completely wiping the hard drive. Since then ive had some problems with the scrolling whilst online..it ends to jump rather than smoothly scroll.

However my main concern is that my speakers and microphone are not working. When i check the audio settings it says there are no spekers attached, which there is. Ive tried looking for a driver for then but as i didnt get one to start with im not to sure if it will help. I just unpacked them conected to the computer and it was recognised straight away. The same for my Labtec microphone, i just conected and was ok . Any thoughts on this would be very helpfull. My email is psrw1804@hotmail.co.uk.

Many thanks

Peter.

Check in your device manager settings and make sure you dont have any yellow questionmark next to the listing "sound, audio, and game controllers"and also "system devices"if there is you need to download drivers. You can click the plus sign to open the list and then right click the one with the yellow questionmark and click check for update, then continue following prompts in the next series of boxes that pop up.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How can i download the free driver creative sb0200 5.1 sound driv

When you can't get them from creative it is a challenge.

You have to be sure the computer has the correct software to recognise the hardware and can work with it. From Windows 7 and up, for all hardware that is certified with Microsoft, you can download the drivers from Microsoft. Lots of hardware is recognised when connected and will initiate a download from Microsoft. But not all hardware will do so and not all hardware is compatible (same as not certified by Microsoft from Windows 7 and up) with the new operating systems.

Most things that worked fine with Windows XP and or Vista, can fail with Windows 7 and 8, because the factory that made the hardware in the first place does not ask for certification with Microsoft for their old Hardware. They only spend time and money to get their new hardware certified on the new operating systems. So to make sure your hardware is compatible with the OS. Check the manual and find out, what you have to do so it will work on your computer.

I need driver sound card Creative Blaster Live! 5.1 series (WDM) for Windows 7? Thx

I found this information, copied it from the Vista Forums, but the post was copied from Creative's site .... so its 3rd hand information, at best!
=========================
(from the Creative forums - I just copied/pasted - jh)

For those of you with live 5.1 problems, here you go!! Worked for me!

From the post @ http://neosmart.net/blog/archives/104:

Creative Sound Blaster Live! Series
This applies to all Live! products, including OEM Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. editions, 24-bit, 5.1, and the rest. Vista 5308 may or may not find drivers on Windows Update, but even if it does, they will not support Digital Audio.

1. Grab the ngoHQ modded drivers from

http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&a...e&dwn_id=20

2. Run the installer in XP compatibility mode.
3. Restart your computer.
4. In the audio properties in the Control Panel, to enable digital audio go to the Other tab and check digital output.
5. Play with the Format tab to get the audio quality to your liking.
6. You may need to restart to ensure that digital audio works after changing that option.

I'm not 100% sure if creative is going to be upset that I posted this, but since they have no plans to support the card in Vista, I can't see a big problem with it.

BTW, I tried the KX driver and I couldn't get it to work, so for anyone with that problem this should be your solution.

I had bought new creative inspire m4500 but instead of four only

I found the solution to my own problem.

(First install the software that is provided in the form of a CD with your SoundBlaster. I had to buy a 5.1VX Creative Sound Blaster for my Creative Inspire M4500 4.1 speakers.)

Go to the folder ‘Creative’ which you may find in your Program Files.
Then double click on the following one after the other:
Creative
SB5.1VX
Surround Mixer
SurMixer (SurMixer.exe)

Now go to EAX.
Select CMSS 3D.
Check on the box ‘Enable CMSS 3D Surround.’
Select ‘Stereo Surround.’

Hope your problem is solved now:))
