I think this is related to the wash arm getting obstructed by either a pan or some spoon stuck at the bottom. That could be the noise you mention.

I have seen people fix the clean light flashing with a sequence of buttons - see below

push the heated wash, and the heated dry buttons one after the other for about 5 times and all the lights light up and the thing just starts going through different settings then it all quits. Push normal wash and it should work.

Hope this helps.

My start/resume light keeps blinking

Count the blinks. If 7 blinks, this usually indicates a problem in the heater circuit. You have to be able to check your heater, heater thermostat and possibly your control board.

sometimes you can shut power off to dishwasher for 10 seconds and this may reset your control and allow your dishwasher to run until the fault reoccurs.

The clean light continues to flash and cannot clear. The unit has been noisier lately.

Hi

Please check if the clean light is blinking 7 times. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry.
If this doesn't work then its an issue with the heater circuit, door switch, wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Well here I am. Do you mean that the clean light is blinking? try pressing heated dry and normal wash until all the lights light up. then press cancel. If the clean light is blinking this usually means that you have a faulty heater. Please let me know what the brand name is

Clean light blinks

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models. I believe the problem is attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there was some sensitivity issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers. There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics1.gif mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation. To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen to heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that you will fill the dishwasher with hot water water instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines before the hot water from the hot water tank heats the line. This should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on what the flashing light sequence is in determining WHAT component is bad. Let me know if this helps you. Post back with your comments or questions.

I had the same problem when I bought it and it just happened again; the problem is solved by ressting the control panel: Hi Temp ---> Heated Dry two or three times. It kind of goes into a testing cycle and the clean blinking light goes off.
